Mr. Dama: Mr Dama has made math fun and engaging for my child. He is kind and really cares about our children learning and comprehending the material.

Ms. Sloan: I am grateful to have Ms.Sloan as my Math teacher.She helped me understand difficult concepts when I missed most of my classes. She truly makes a difference.Thank you Ms.Sloan for being my teacher!!!

Congratulations to our first PBIS P.A.W.S recipient, Ms. Stacey Stiffler, who is receiving this recognition for the 2024-2025 school year! Ms. Stiffler is an amazing ELA teacher here at Taylor Road. She not only works very hard for her team, but for the students as well. She is always willing to help a colleague or student whenever needed and does so with a positive attitude and smile. She gives valuable time to all her students. To know Ms. Stiffler is to love her! We are lucky to have such a dedicated teacher here at TRMS.

Our 7th grade students will be participating in MAP testing at the end of the month. We will be running alternative bell schedules during those days.

TRMS is focusing on digital citizenship in the month of September. Teachers are completing digital citizenship trainings and webinars. Students will be participating in digital citizenship lessons from Common Sense Media on topics such as cyberbullying, digital footprint and identity, AI, and news and media literacy. Please check out the Common Sense Media Website and the items below for some parent resources on digital citizenship.

According to the CDC, suicide is among the leading causes of death for people ages 10-66 and is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 10-14. Despite being a leading cause of death, suicide it is preventable. During this month, our school will be drawing attention to the problem of suicide and advocating the prevention of this tragedy. We encourage our students and families to participate in Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. School Counselors and School Social Worker will be sharing resources and activities (such as our SOS Signs of Suicide Program) throughout September to bring awareness to suicide prevention. The awareness generated this month has the potential to have an enormous impact on our school community, even the chance to save a life.

Welcome Message from School Counselors:

The counseling PLC team is so excited to welcome in our 2nd month of school. This month will encompass our FCS Signs of Suicide Program presentation for all grade levels. We will continue to offer our New Student Group this month as well as beginning our career interest activity SIEP - Sparking Interest Engineering Pathways- with eligible identified 8th grade students and Ms. Massey and counseling team. We are currently working on Attendance Awareness Week programming with our school social worker, Ms. Sheridan. A classroom guidance program Steps A with some of our 8th graders through Ms. Ferrer's class and our school counseling intern, Ms. Adams.

Our 6th grade small friendship group has started with our Summit Counselor and Ms. Pompey. Ms. Sabula worked on our Taylor Road Care Team Plan in preparedness for major crisis with our families and staff. Ms. Green has begun our 504 meetings and up next is MTSS and working lunch which will begin this month!

Of course, we are there for our students, families, and staff. So, don't hesitate to contact us.

Academic Excellence Donation 24-25

These generous voluntary donations will be used exclusively to purchase academic programs or supplies to support student learning or to purchase learning opportunities for our Teachers to enhance their ability to educate our students.
