Christmas Break
Friday, December 20: Early Dismissal (11:30 a.m.)
Please note that there is no after school E.S.S. on Friday.
Monday, December 23 - January 5: No School - Christmas Break
The faculty and staff at St. John wish all of our families a safe and blessed Christmas!
Parking Lot Reminder
For the safety of our students and families, please be sure to always drive slowly and carefully as you enter and exit our parking lot. With children walking to and from cars, extra alertness and carefulness are extremely important. Also, always be sure to pull into a parking space as you drop off and pick up your child. It is very difficult for other drivers to see around vehicles that are “parked” in the driving lanes. We appreciate your continued help as we strive to make our parking lot a safe place for everyone!
Thank you!
Thank you so much to all of the families in 3rd-8th grade who contributed toward the shower gift for our soon-to-be-arriving baby girl. We are blessed by your kindness and generosity!

School Call News
Please remember to keep Mr. Wintrone and his family in your prayers as he deliberates the divine call that he has received to teach next year at Peace Lutheran School in Sun Prairie, WI. He is being asked to be the homeroom teacher for 7th grade and serve in a departmentalized setting while also serving as the school’s technology director. Please feel free to contact him and share your insights as to where he can best serve. May the Lord guide his thought process and lead him to clearly see where he can best use his talents to serve his Savior.
We had requested a mid-year graduate from Martin Luther College (MLC), our synod’s training college for future pastors and teachers, to come and serve as a teacher in our 5th-6th grade classroom. There were fourteen mid-year requests from schools throughout our synod and only four available graduates. Three of those graduates were limited to serving in the Minnesota area, and the final person was trained as a high school Spanish teacher, so we were not assigned anyone at this time.
Although we are disappointed by that news, we are very thankful that Mr. Kopcynski and Mrs. Johnson have agreed to continue team-teaching in the classroom for the rest of this school year. We appreciate the wonderful job they are doing! Having them provide continuity for the remainder of the school year is a great blessing. Be sure to thank them if you get the chance.
St. John will now evaluate options as we seek the best path for calling a new teacher who can begin serving us in the fall. The Lord knows what is best, and He will guide and direct things according to His will. We trust him as we plan and then patiently wait to see what He is preparing for us. As we plan and wait, feel free to contact Mr. Retzlaff with any questions or concerns that you may have. Lord, not our will, but your will be done!
Read-A-Thon Update
Our fall fundraiser is officially closed, and the results were AMAZING! We raised $5,608!! Parents, thank you for helping your children make this such a hugely successful fundraiser.
The highest earning class was Mrs. Lofsness' and the second highest was Mr. Wintrone's. Together these two classes raised nearly half our total. Great job!
Congratulations and thank you to all who participated. As a reminder, due to the success of this fundraiser, we will not hold a second PTP fundraiser in the spring.
The teachers and PTP have decided to hold an all-school pizza lunch in celebration of the spectacular success of this fundraiser. The date for the pizza lunch is set for tomorrow. Please prepare for snacks/lunch as appropriate for your student(s).
