Hewitt-Trussville High School Climbs the Ranks
Earlier this week, U.S. News and World Report announced that Hewitt-Trussville High School now stands as the #8 Best High School in Alabama!! Just two years ago, they were ranked #15, and last year, #12. This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the students, faculty, and community. It's an exciting time to be a part of Trussville City Schools, and we want to congratulate HTHS on this accomplishment!
Paine Second Grade Wax Museum
Paine second grade students participated in a “Famous Americans Wax Museum” to show off their knowledge of the famous Americans they have been studying. Each of them researched a famous American of their choice (within the Alabama course of study), wrote biographies, and “became” the person.
For the wax museum, each student froze in place until the buttons in front of them were pushed. Once “activated”, they came to life and recited a memorized script that consisted of who they were, when they were born, 3 reasons they are famous, and when they died. They did absolutely incredible and learned so much through this experience.
"Careers on Wheels" Event at Cahaba
"Careers on Wheels" brought kindergarten and 1st-grade students on an exciting journey through their community. They explored booths set up by police officers, firefighters, librarians, florists, grocery store managers, insurance agencies, catering companies, health and wellness facilities, utility workers, and pharmacists, learning firsthand about the important roles each plays. Through engaging demonstrations and friendly conversations, the children gained a deeper understanding of how these professionals help their neighborhood thrive.

Have you heard about Neighborhood Bridges?
Neighborhood Bridges is a wonderful resource where we can post a need out into the community and our students needs can be filled by the general public. This is completely anonymous, but allows the community to have an active role in meeting the needs of TCS students. If you would like to subscribe to follow along with the needs of our kids, here is the link: https://www.neighborhoodbridges.org/community/Trussville-al
Cahaba Presents Trussville 360
4th and 5th graders at Cahaba Elementary dove into their city's history, researching through websites, interviews, videos, and a field trip to Heritage Hall. They crafted essays on key events, then used 360-degree pictures to create a virtual tour. This week, they presented their tour to parents and school leaders, showcasing their deep understanding and connection to Trussville's past.
Under the direction of Mr. Danny Moore, Music Teacher, Magnolia kindergarten, first-grade, and second-grade students participated in Titles and Tunes, a one-of-a-kind musical and literary production that tied together music and books! Mr. Moore created and directed Titles and Tunes with the intention of fostering a love of both reading and music within the students and to support the school's focus on reading and literacy. At dress rehearsals and performances for grade levels and parents, students played unique and entertaining percussion pieces specifically written by Mr. Moore for the following works of children's literature:
Mrs. Durham's Class: The Gruffalo
Mrs. Gamble's Class: Mortimer
Mrs. Parrish's Class: The Pout-Pout Fish
