Urgent Safety Reminder – Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures
Parker Families!!
We need your immediate attention and cooperation regarding a growing safety concern during arrival and dismissal times. This issue has been raised through Principal Chat & Chew discussions and multiple emails from concerned parents.
The most critical issue is parents stopping in the middle of the street to unload students. This is extremely dangerous and has resulted in multiple near-miss accidents where students were almost hit by vehicles. We must act now to prevent a tragedy.
Safe & Efficient Drop-Off: Use the Carpool Lane
Many parents have shared how much they appreciate the speed and efficiency of the carpool lane in the rear of the school. Yes, you will be in a line, but that is expected at any school with a large number of students. The key is to plan ahead and arrive in time to make it to your next destination without rushing.
✅ Carpool begins at 7:00 AM – giving you plenty of time to drop off and go.
✅ Carpool helps you avoid congestion in areas where our walking families and staff parking entrance create natural delays on the other side of campus.
Important Safety Reminders
🚫 Do NOT use the bus lane or the front of the school for drop-off or pick-up. These areas are NOT loading zones during arrival and dismissal times.
🚦 The bus lane is only accessible for vehicles after 7:30 AM. Staff will soon be present to keep it closed and redirect violators.
🚔 HISD Police Department will be returning to campus to monitor traffic and issue citations.
Creating a Culture of Safety – "This is how we do at Parker!"
Many of the drivers violating safety rules are likely not parents who regularly read the Parker Pulse. That’s why we need everyone’s help in spreading our school’s culture and setting the expectation that at Parker, we prioritize student safety, we follow the rules, and we hold each other accountable.
If you would like to volunteer in the mornings to assist with monitoring the front of the school, please contact Jeanette Mueller at president@parkerpto.org.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping Parker a safe place for all students, parents, and staff.

March Character Education Theme: Fairness, Justice and Freedom from Prejudice.
Week 1- A big part of fairness, justice, and freedom from prejudice is being kind to others and treating others with respect. Kindness means treating others the way you want to be treated. When we’re all kind, we create a happy and fair world.
Week 2- Fairness means playing by the rules, sharing, and giving everyone a chance.
Week 3 -Justice: Justice is about standing up for what is right and making sure everyone is treated with respect and kindness.
Week 4 -Freedom from Prejudice: Freedom from prejudice means accepting others for who they are, no matter their differences.
