This includes watching children around water, keeping an eye on them in public places, and being mindful of what your kids are doing and who they’re with. Community Partnerships
CUSD Through the Years
Families & CUSD supporters, we are planning an event that has a historical theme. Think vintage sports and cheer uniforms, vintage school shirts, letterman jackets, etc. If you have items from your time in CUSD as a student or staff member that you would be willing to loan us, please email a brief write up and picture of the item to chandlercommunicationoffice@cusd80.com. The items will be displayed at the Chandler Center for the Arts July 10-11, then immediately available for return on July 12.
The Summer Reading Challenge officially starts on June 1, when readers of all ages log their reading minutes until August 1. Reading just 20 minutes a day will get readers to the finish line, earning unique and valuable prizes along the way.
“The Summer Reading Challenge is one of the most exciting programs we offer at the Chandler Public Library,” says Jean Reynolds, Library Program Manager. “We have amazing partners this year who are supplying awesome prizes for participants. This year’s theme, Adventure Begins at Your Library, really speaks to the power books have on our imaginations – there are no limits to where a story can take you.”
Readers may register beginning May 1 at Chandler Public Library or in person at their local Chandler library branch. Participants will track their minutes from June 1 through Aug. 1. As participants reach milestones with their logged minutes, they can earn great prizes based on their age level. Prizes are supplied by a variety of local partners including Arizona State Parks & Trails, Phoenix Mercury, Raising Cane’s, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Harkins Theatres and many more food, retail and entertainment partners.
Participants may also earn extra points by visiting community areas such as the Chandler Nature Center, Chandler Museum, Chandler Aquatic Centers and Pools and more.
Legal Documents for Parents of Graduating Seniors
Prepared professionally by Keystone Law Firm, these documents can cost up to $495 to prepare. For $35 per student, Keystone Law Firm will prepare and file these documents. Presented by Keystone Law Firm owner and attorney, Francisco Sirvent, author of Pack Your Parachute: Keeping Peril Out of Your Estate Plan. (Seniors should be age 17 1/2 and older.)
All Proceeds Benefit Chandler Students!
Graduation is less than three months away. Soon your senior will be 18 (if not already) and off to college in another town or another state. What shocks many parents is that they learn they can no longer make legal decisions for their kids as soon as a child turns 18. What’s more is that they also no longer have any special “rights” to receive private information, such as health care information, without the child’s permission.
June Workshop:

ASU Summer Writing Camp For High School Students
ASU English Department’s YAWP 2024 Summer Camp (Session B): Writing Your Future: A College and Personal Essay Seminar.
Geared specifically for rising 11th and 12th graders, this writing seminar helps prepare participants by providing a variety of application topics, explore the role of style (not just what you say, but how you say it), and analyze sample personal statements. They’ll draft, share, revise, and edit. By the end of the workshop, students will have several “starts” as well as a revised draft of a personal statement.
Every summer before the beginning of the school year, For Our City - Chandler provides thousands of students throughout Chandler with backpacks, school supplies, shoes, socks, underwear, and haircuts through the one-of-a-kind Operation Back to School event.
Event Day: Saturday, July 13
Location: Compass Christian Church | 1825 S. Alma School Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286
Time: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.
