Celebrating Success
Sprague School teachers shared how staff expand student voice and choice. As a result, presenting teachers Rachel Chiesa, Katie Jenkins, and Christie Wylie explained to the Board that they have seen remarkable growth in students’ confidence, engagement, and ownership of their education. Teachers implement strategies that empower students to set goals, reflect on their progress, and collaborate more effectively with their peers. This approach enhances academic achievement and nurtures critical thinking and problem-solving skills, setting a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
Lake County Response Team
Lake County schools, in cooperation with the Regional Office of Education, have the opportunity to join the Lake County School Mutual Aid Response Team. This agreement aims to develop and implement programs designed to provide mutual aid in crises, primarily arising out of disaster or violence in school districts and cooperatives within Lake County.
Bus Driver Shortage
Transportation Director Anthony Mendoza shared the pending driver shortage the district expects in the ensuing months. Due to several reasons, transportation expects six driver vacancies soon. The district may look into contracting with other companies for unassigned routes while hiring drivers and expanding its recruitment of drivers.
