START OF SCHOOL INFORMATION
WELCOME!
Dear Cooley Families,
We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer filled with fun and great memories!
All of the information you will need for a successful start to the 2024 - 2025 school year is included in this newsletter. Updates will be added if new information is confirmed. Please check the date under this welcome box to see when the latest information was posted.
Our office staff will return the week of July 29th. Questions that need to be answered before that time can be directed to emily.alcock@cpsb.org.

IMPORTANT DATES
JULY 29
- Office staff returns from summer break!
JULY 29 - 31
- Kindergarten teachers host individual Meet & Greet sessions with new students. Stay tuned to email for additional information.
AUGUST 2
- Grade 1 - 5 families will be notified of homeroom teacher assignments through email.
- OSP will open online to collect school fees of $15 per student.
AUGUST 6
- New Family Orientation will begin at 6:00 PM in our school cafeteria. All new K - 5 families are invited to attend. Parents will remain in the cafeteria for a brief informational meeting. Kindergarten students will join their classmates in their classroom. Students in grades 1 - 5 will enjoy a tour and welcome activity.
AUGUST 7
- MEET & GREET for students in Grades 1 - 5
Last names A - L : 9:00 - 10:00
Last names M - Z: 10:15 - 11:15
Families will stop by the cafeteria to visit stations that will ensure readiness for back to school. Homeroom classes will be visited to meet teachers and drop off supplies.
AUGUST 9
- FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL (Parents may enter the building for a first day picture. All students will enter independently on Monday, August 12th.)

MEDICATION FORMS - REQUIRED FOR ALL MEDICATION ADMINISTERED AT SCHOOL
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
It’s not too late to purchase pre-packaged school supplies! Click on the link below to purchase. Items purchased at this time will be shipped to your home and can be brought to school at Meet & Greet on August 7th.
- Families wishing to purchase supplies on their own can click on the supply lists linked below. These supplies can be brought to school at Meet & Greet.
- The only required items that are not included in the pre-packaged boxes are a backpack, water bottle, and chairback.
BACKPACK
- required for all grade levels
- no wheels
WATER BOTTLE
- required for all grade levels
- no exposed straw, even with a cap
- screw top or flip top lid
- must be clearly labeled with child's name
- must be filled with water only
CHAIR BACK
- only required for grades 2 - 5
- standard size, approximately 15" x 18"
SPIRIT GEAR + UNIFORMS
SPIRIT GEAR
T.S. Cooley students are allowed to wear spirit shirts to school every day. Spirit shirts from previous years can be worn if they are in good condition.
- Spirit items purchased by June 30th will be distributed at Meet & Greet in August.
- The spirit store will stay open through September. Orders placed now will be delivered to school in September/October. The final deadline will be advertised in the school newsletter.
ALL 4TH AND 5TH GRADE STUDENTS - PURPLE POLO REQUIRED
Our fourth and fifth grade students participate in several public choir performances throughout the year. Our choir uniform is outlined below. We are requesting that all fourth and fifth grade students purchase a purple monogrammed polo from the link above.
CHOIR UNIFORM REQUIRED FOR ALL 4TH AND 5TH GRADE STUDENTS:
- T.S. Cooley purple monogrammed polo (purchased from Kajun Monograms)
- khaki pants or khaki skirt
- brown or black belt
- white socks - No ankle socks. Socks must be visible as crew socks or knee socks for girls with skirts.
- tennis shoes OR closed toe black or brown shoes in good condition
UNIFORMS
- T.S. Cooley follows the CPSB uniform policy.
- Bottoms - khaki, navy, or full length jeans with no holes/rips/tears (no jean shorts)
- Tops - spirit shirts purchased through the T.S. Cooley Spirit Store (linked above), polo - white, navy blue, purple, or green (NO PERSONAL CUSTOM MONOGRAMS OR PRINTS ARE ALLOWED.)
- Shoes - closed toe tennis shoes
- Socks - white, navy, khaki, black, grey
- Outerwear - solid color sweatshirts/jackets are allowed, no distracting designs
- Undershirts/tights - white, black
- **Please make sure K students can independently button and zip bottoms to go to the restroom.
EXTENDED DAY
The Extended Day Program at T.S. Cooley is open until 6:00 PM daily. Registration packets will be available at Meet & Greet. Packets must be submitted before students can attend. Additional information can be accessed at the button below.
- T.S. Cooley does not offer drop-in care. All families pay monthly tuition.
CHANGES TO PAYMENT OPTIONS
ProCare will no longer be supporting online credit card payments through Tuition Express as of July 1, 2024. Parents will still have the ability to pay by swiping their card at the check-in computer. The district is currently in the process of discussing potential upgrades with ProCare that would allow for online payments again. We anticipate this interruption in online payments being only temporary. We will keep you informed regarding upcoming updates that will likely take place around September.

All meals are free for CPSB students for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
CPSB ONLINE SCHOOL PAYMENTS (OSP)
Online school payments will be the preferred method of payment during the school year. Bookmark the link below to have easy access all year.
Be on the lookout for the following items to be posted on August 2nd:
- $15 school fee for each student
- yearbook purchase
- PTO membership
- club fees
- spirit items - stickers, yard signs, magnets, excess merchandise from previous years

We have created a school-wide wish list of items that are used in our main office, classrooms, and staff lounge. The link to this wish list is posted below. Anyone interested in donating items to our school can bring them to Meet & Greet. We appreciate your support!
