Tips for Finishing the Semester Strong:
Students,
Last week your midterm grades were due. Remember, those grades are a snapshot of where you are currently. You can set goals to improve your grades to finish this semester with success!
Here are some tips for how to finish the first semester strong:
- Stay Organized
- Use your agenda to write down your assignments and due dates, have a folder or binder to help you organize materials for each class. When you keep things organized, it's easier to remember what you need to do and turn things in on time. This way, you won’t feel overwhelmed and can finish your work without rushing.
- Ask for Help When Needed
- If you don’t understand something, ask your teacher or a friend for help! It’s normal to have questions, and teachers like it when students try their best. Asking for help early makes it easier to keep up with what you’re learning.
- Remember, we have multiple opportunities for students to get support at JCMS including The Panther Den and Panther Study.
- Be Here!
- Being in class every day helps you learn and know what’s going on. If you have to miss a day, ask your teacher about what you missed, and work to get caught up as soon as you can. This helps you stay on track and feel ready for each day!
🐾End of Quarter Celebration 🐾
In order for students to attend they should be:
- Passing all of their classes - meaning students should not have any Fs for their quarter grade
- Students should not have more than 3 unexcused absences this quarter
- Students should not have 3 or more discipline referrals this quarter
JCMS, let’s finish this first semester strong!

Students may bring in canned food items to their 4th period - SRT teacher and the Student Council will begin collecting canned food items. The SRT with the most canned goods collected will receive 5 points towards the winning the spirit stick at the annual holiday convocation on Friday, December 20th.
🐾 Athletic Updates: 🐾
🐾 JCMS Volleyball Holiday Volleyball Tournament 🐾
EXCITING NEWS!!
Join us for the first annual JCMS Holiday Volleyball Tournament! This tournament serves as a fundraiser for the upcoming season. The money collected will allow us to buy things such as new balls, ball bags, etc.
We would love to get enough teams signed up to have 2 different brackets: an intermediate and an advanced.
If you’re interested, please email cmiller@jcms.org to receive a Google Form.
🐾 PARENTS & GUARDIANS OF ATHLETES PARTICIPATING IN WORKOUTS🐾
Reminder: to participate in athletics, student athletes MUST have a sports physical on file at JCMS and must be registered on Final Forms.
Schneck Urgent Care at 1124 Medical Pl. Seymour, IN 47274 is open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday-Friday and 8 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. This location offers sports physicals for $25 cash/debit/credit (meaning they do not run insurance)
If your athlete attended tonight’s after school workout and did not have a physical on file, they received a form that can be filled out and taken to their physical. Having this filled out ahead of time will make your trip much quicker. If they do not have a form, they can get one from the JCMS athletic office!
For any questions about this process, please contact the JCMS Athletic office during school hours. We look forward to all of our athletes being able to participate!
🐾 November Lunch Menu 🐾
Many students often want to know ahead of time what is served for lunch each day. Here is the upcoming November Lunch Menu. We appreciate all of the time and effort our lunch crew puts into making our lunches each day. Thank you to all of them!
