Update on all things Beckham from Mrs. Dassing-March 2025
Dear Bengal Families,
Spring has sprung at LBHS! As the temperatures warm and a lovely coat of yellow pollen descends on us all, we are focused on finishing 3rd quarter strong and looking forward to a great 4th Quarter! We will graduate our Class of 2025 on May 22 at the North Charleston Coliesium at 3 pm. We are excited for this special time with them as they count down the days!
We are also in the midst of registering students for the 2025-2026 school year so be sure to check out the details below in our Counseling Corner. Over 500 students are participating in Spring sports and our Visual and Performing Arts students are off to a variety of performances, assessments, and concerts as well as so many field trips! We are heading into what we affectionately call our Testing Tornado Season and want to be sure everyone is prepared. Beckham StuCo has planned a super fun Spring Spirit week for March 24-28. Spring Break (April 14-18) will be here before we know it. Please be sure to check our website regularly and look for periodic updates and reminder emails. Reach out if you have questions or need assistance in anyway!
Your very proud principal,
Mrs. Dassing

March 11-Testing and Job Shadowing
On Tuesday March 11, students in 10th (2nd year) and 11th (3rd year) grades will be taking a required standardized test (10th-PreACT, 11th ACT or SAT). For questions regarding testing, please email elise_joyce@charleston.k12.sc.us.
Due to changes in the schedule and the need for extended testing time, we are giving our 9th and 12th grade students an opportunity to explore career options on this day. We have arranged for students that complete a job shadow experience to receive an excused absence for the day. Students who do not want to job shadow, will report to school and complete asynchronous assignments in a monitored classroom setting. Students that do want to do a job shadow will need to arrange the experience and complete the form attached. Job Shadow forms should be turned into school counseling on Wednesday March 12 to have the job shadow day excused. If no form is turned in, the absence will be unexcused.
If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to Mrs. Melissa Leopper, LB Career Counselor at melissa_leopper@charleston.k12.sc.us. Please print the form attached or pick one up in the school counseling office.
