Dear La Porte ISD Stakeholders,
A little more than a couple of weeks remain until students fill our classrooms, and we are getting more excited by the day.
You might have seen on our social media feeds that our schools have been bustling with activity all summer long with camps and activities, principal read-along events and, more recently, professional development for our teachers. While many of our dedicated educators have spent their own time and resources over the summer to become better at what they do, the district is also committed to providing them with exceptional learning opportunities. In fact, by the time students start school on August 14, our teachers and support staff will have gone through hours upon hours of additional professional development to help them polish their teaching skills — from hyper-focused lessons on more effectively teaching math, science and ELA, to La Porte U., which provides dozens of educational options. Our campus and district administrators have also received intense training over the summer, with more to come. Below are a few photos from our annual Administrator Retreat, which took place last week.
If you have driven near La Porte High School over the summer, you have undoubtedly seen the progress being made at the construction site of the new Bulldog Stadium and state-of-the-art Educational Complex. But there has been plenty of progress elsewhere as it relates to the 2023 Bond, including painting, playground replacements, infrastructural projects (see the latest below in this newsletter) and office suite construction at La Porte High School that will place principals and counselors together by grade level. As we move toward completion on each project, I want to say again how grateful I am to the La Porte ISD community for making these necessary upgrades possible.

We update it daily with important details to help our parents and students prepare more effectively. As I mentioned, we are increasingly excited as the 2024-25 school year approaches, and I cannot wait to see all the students' faces on August 14. I am grateful for your ongoing support and commitment to La Porte ISD.
