The School Advisory Council is a representative, school-building-based committee composed of the principal, parents/caregivers, teachers, and community members. The role of the SAC is to assist the principal in reflecting on programming, shaping school goals, and guiding teaching and learning. Dear 8th Grade Families,
As our 8th graders prepare to move to new surroundings and exciting opportunities, we want to celebrate their incredible journey. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have passed—wasn't it just yesterday that they were your little "babies"?
To make this yearbook truly special, we’re collecting baby pictures of each student. These photos will remind us all of how far they've come and the bright future ahead.
Here’s how you can help:
Find a favorite baby picture of your student.
Email it to miscoeyearbook@mursd.org by March 1, 2025.
Include your child’s name with the photo.

It’s that time of year. The days are shorter, the air is colder and we all tend to stay inside more. It is still so important for your kids to be active and get some exercise during the winter months. Here are some ideas to keep your kids active:
Limit screen time (less than 2 hours per day)
Make playing outside part of the daily routine
Go for a walk together. (It is a great time to talk)
Try a winter sport like skiing, skating or snowboarding
Winter hiking or snowshoeing
Encourage outside the same outdoor play as kids do in the warm months, like kicking a ball around, playing basketball, skateboarding or biking.
Enjoy Snow! Make a snowman, sledding, snow angels, snowball fight, snow forts.
Try inside activities that are more active like twister, dancing to music charades or an obstacle course.
Utilize yoga, exercise and dance videos.
Use a stopwatch for challenges. (How long can you jump, run in place, etc)
Help make a difference for animals in need! A sophomore at Nipmuc Regional High School is organizing a supply drive for the Milford Humane Society as part of their National Honor Society leadership project.
Donation boxes will be available throughout January here at Miscoe as well as Taft Public Library, and Clough Elementary School.
Please check the flyer for a list of most-needed items or scan the QR code to donate directly through the shelter's Amazon Wishlist. Every contribution helps provide care and comfort to animals waiting for their forever homes.
