Happy New Year Avon Families!

We hope everyone had a wonderful winter break! We are excited to have all of our students back and to begin the 2nd semester and 3rd quarter soon! We wrap up the 2nd quarter next week on 1/16. Please be sure to check your child's PowerSchool before the end of the quarter.

Starting the week of January 20th we will be conducting MAP testing in ELA and Math classes. Student scores will be sent home when the MAP window closes. We look forward to seeing all of the progress our students have made since the Fall MAP.

January will be a busy month as we begin the 3rd quarter of school. There is a teacher in-service day on Friday, January 17th - No School for students and Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 20th - No School.

Please read the attached document regarding our 6th grade Camp Nuhop trip that will take place in May 2025! We have our parent meeting coming up on Wednesday, January 15th at 6:30 PM in the AMS Commons. If you are unable to attend we will be sending out the presentation and all information after the meeting. Please note that all student fees need to be paid before attending this trip in the spring. The meeting is led by the Director of Outdoor Education from Camp Nuhop and will be able to answer any questions. Please reach out to Mrs. Russ for any questions regarding Camp (russe@avoneagles.org).

**Annie Jr Cast and Crew have been casted. Show is in April and more details to come. Questions see Mrs. Garcia.

We will have a virtual meeting for our incoming 6th Grade Parents on Feb. 12th. Information will be sent home closer to the date.

If your child is an incoming 7th/8th Grader for next school year we will also do a virtual meeting on Jan. 29th. Information will be sent home closer to the date.

Our Counselors will do scheduling with students on the following dates:

1) School Lunches - Please remember that lunches are $3.25 this year! Please check out the menu online for the month. All a la cart items are extra! Students can bring in their money in the morning and put it in an envelope in the commons area. If you qualify for free and reduced lunch, please be sure to fill out the form (this can be found on our website) or you can call the office for directions).

2) Car Riders - Our line for drop off and pick up is in the back of the building. Please remember to pull forward so that the line of traffic can continue to move! Thank you for your patience! Cars are to pull into the South Entrance off of Long Road ONLY.

3) School Fees are DUE. Your School Fees are due upon receipt. Please take care of any balances as soon as possible. Please note that all school fees are due before our spring field trip dates. Thank you!

4) If your son/daughter will be leaving early from school for a doctor's appointment/etc. please be sure to send them in with a note in the morning. The note can be dropped off in our office. Thank you!

5) Here is the attendance line phone number 440-934-3838 that you can call in to report your child's absence 24 hours a day.
