Jaguar News Journal
December 9th - December 13th
From Our Principal
Dear JWE Families,
Hello and happy Sunday! We are officially in the thick of the Holiday Season. It's a busy time at school and for families in general! I know the next two weeks will go by quickly! We're excited to enjoy them with our students!
This Monday, December 9th is our monthly Spirit Night at Bridgewater Domino's Pizza! We'd love for you to take a night off from preparing dinner and order from them! A portion of all orders will come back to the school provided you use/reference this flyer when you order: JWES Domino's Spirit Night Flyer.
I once again want to call parent/guardian attention to our overflowing Lost & Found. We donated items remaining after Parent Conference Day to a local church clothes closet on November 4th but it has filled up again. Winter coats, hats, gloves, mittens, water bottles, etc. We know families must be missing items. If you think your child may have misplaced an item please encourage them to check our Lost and Found. If you fear they will forget to do so - please also reach out to their teacher who can offer a reminder. We'd love to get items back to their rightful owners!
On behalf of all John Wayland faculty and staff, I wish you a wonderful Holiday Season! We are grateful for our community and as always, appreciate your partnership and support!
Sincerely,
Sara Hammill

Counselor Corner
The saying is “It is better to give than to receive“. What’s even better is what we, as school counselors get to do this time of the year, which is to connect givers to receivers.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to: all of our staff, family & community sponsors, Ashley Michael and Emmanuel Church of the Brethren in Mount Solon, Lulu Bender and the Dayton Giving Tree Project, Bridgewater Rotary, the entire 1st Grade Team & students with their food drive project. All who have been involved have been so generous in helping to meet the needs of students and families in our school community this holiday season.
We have all experienced times in our lives where we have needed something and can remember the generosity of those who have helped us. We are hoping to nurture that spirit year-round, not just in December. We encourage you to reach out to us if you are experiencing a temporary or ongoing hardship, where we could do our best to try to connect you with resources. If you want to find out about future giving opportunities for serving others in our school community, please let us know and we can connect you. Grateful for the opportunity to be a bridge this season. We wish you and your families a meaningful holiday season!
