Principal's Notes
Last week, I found myself a week ahead in our Lenten journey—my apologies for any confusion. This serves as a personal reminder to slow down and refocus on the true meaning of Lent. Our days become so busy that we often lose sight of the purpose behind our actions. It’s important to pause, be present, and truly embrace each moment.
Today, we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Lent, known as Laetare Sunday. The name Laetare comes from the Latin word for “rejoice,” signifying a moment of joy and encouragement in our Lenten journey. As we prepare our hearts for Easter, Laetare Sunday reminds us of the hope and joy found in Christ’s Resurrection. This message was at the heart of our reflection during this past week’s Tuesday Together.
Drama Club: We have an exciting and busy week ahead as our Drama Club prepares to present Shrek Jr.! There will be a school performance and run-through on Wednesday, followed by two evening performances on Wednesday and Thursday.
Let us keep our Drama Club students and leaders in our prayers—may they find calmness, confidence, and joy as they bring their hard work to life on stage. Wishing them all wonderful performances!
Special Note: Our SBS alum, Meghan Henry, will be selling candy bars during both evening performances of Shrek, Jr. to support her upcoming mission trip with Cardinal Spellman High School this June. She will be traveling to Jamaica to serve with Mustard Seed Communities, an organization dedicated to caring for mentally and physically disabled children and adults who have been abandoned and need support to live and thrive.
Please join me in supporting Meghan and this incredible mission!
All my best,
Matthew Collins

Faith Formation - Weekly Aspirations
Peter 5:6-7 “...humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.”
Sometimes we can feel far away from you, Lord. In this season, remind us of what is true. Speak louder than the lies. Help us celebrate that you are in control of all things.

Teacher Spotlight - Mrs. Curran - Library
During Mrs. Curran’s library class, students usually participate in activities related to reading, learning about books, and developing information literacy skills. Mrs. Curran introduces library resources and shares information about book genres. Students learn about library etiquette and they conduct research projects. To celebrate baseball season, Mrs. Curran had the students play “biography baseball.” When at bat, Mrs. Curran gave the student the name of a famous person and then the student provided the call number for the biography. If the student gave the correct call number, the student was able to pick a card which gave the student a number of bases to go to. The students enjoyed this library challenge during the baseball themed game!
Mrs. Curran’s favorites: holiday: Thanksgiving; coffee/ tea order: black tea no sugar; cookie: fig newton; flower: hydrangea; places to shop: Market Basket/ Pottery Barn/ Ann Taylor Outlet; season: spring; Disney character: Snow White.
