Principal's Message
E.O. Green Junior High School Families,
As we enter February, we look forward to celebrating Black History Month by providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn about and appreciate the significant contributions of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers throughout history.
Additionally, please note that there will be no school on February 14 and February 17 in observance of Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays.
On February 7, we will have a 1:00 p.m. release time for students.
For our 8th-grade families, high school online enrollment opened on February 1, 2025. We sincerely appreciate our ELA teachers for their support in assisting the Channel Islands and Hueneme High School counselors with registering our 8th graders for their upcoming classes. Please be on the lookout for details regarding high school visits—permission slips will be sent home and must be signed for participation.
Lastly, we want to express our gratitude to all the students who participated in our Spelling Bee—your hard work and dedication were commendable!
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s make it a great month at E.O. Green.
Warm regards,
Principal Sanchez

High School Enrollment For 2025-2026
Attention 8th Grade Families
As we prepare our students for the next stage of their educational journey, we want to remind you that registering for high school is a separate process since the Oxnard Union High School District (OUHSD) is a different district from Hueneme Elementary. OUHSD uses an online enrollment system, and the enrollment portal will open on February 1, 2025, for new enrollments. Any applications submitted before this date may not be received by OUHSD.
To ensure your student is ready and has a spot at their home school, please visit the following link for step-by-step guidance:
If you wish for your child to attend a school other than their home school, you will need to complete an electronic IntraDistrict Application. Applications are to be submitted by February 28, 2025, by 4:00 pm. For detailed information about IntraDistrict transfers, visit:
IntraDistrict Transfer Information
OUHSD will notify families of their transfer request status via email by the end of April 2025.
For additional support, Hueneme High School staff will be on our campus during Open House on March 13, 2025, from 4:30–6:00 PM. They will be available to assist with enrollment questions. Please note that this process enrolls your student into the OUHSD district, not specific classes.
For further assistance, you are encouraged to reach out directly to your student’s designated high school.
Attached are flyers with important details about OUHSD enrollment events for schools like Channel Islands, Pacifica, Hueneme, and Oxnard High.
