Dearest Scout Family,
This is one of those weeks that reminds me why I loved high school so much, I went to college, and then I went right back! It is the energy of the students and staff that keep me going each day, but it is the energy of this past week that will keep me going for a career. We celebrated more of our seniors on senior nights; laughed alongside students in our winter play; watched seniors signing commitment letters; clapped with the drum line for our Cheer team going to state; welcomed our Varsity Blue Dance team and their second place Nationals finish; and So. Much. More!
And what was a super memorable “more” for many of us? We had a first at Lake Forest High School. Our First Women and Girls in Sports Day Celebration–and it was certainly one that will be difficult to top next year! We welcomed “home” Nadia Rawlinson, LFHS Class of 1997, co-owner of the Chicago Sky, and basically, an all around dynamo whose warm presence, personality, care, and commitment resonated with so many of our Scouts! There were many nuggets of wisdom that she shared during her Fireside Chat–but the one that resonated most with me was to never, ever, be limited by your own imagination. She encouraged us to think outside of our comfort zone (not just the box) because life’s experiences are vast and wide, and so much more than we could ever imagine.
As we enter the weekend and beyond, here is to nurturing in our Scouts (and each other) the gift of limitless imagination.
All my best,
Erin

National Women In Sports Day at LFHS
Lake Forest High School was thrilled to welcome back Nadia Rawlinson, LFHS alum and part-owner of the Chicago Sky, for an afternoon with students for National Women In Sports day. Ms. Rawlinson’s visit included lunch with a group of students, a meet and greet with LFHS female sports captains and a fireside chat open to the entire school community. At the conclusion of Ms. Rawlinson’s visit, she participated with our female student athletes in our traditional clap out.
We are incredibly grateful for Ms. Rawlinson’s visit to LFHS sharing her experiences, and inspiring our students with her journey in leadership and sports. Her presence left a meaningful impact, and we are grateful for the time she spent connecting with our students.
We look forward to welcoming her back again soon!

Submitting Service Hours for the 24-25 School Year
Lake Forest High School has moved away from using X2Vol to record service hours for this academic year.
All students should use this spreadsheet to record service hours for this current academic year. You will be prompted to make a copy of the spreadsheet. This link is also found in the ScoutCenter under Extracurricular & School Life.
If you can say YES to the following questions, your volunteer service is likely to be approved:*
Was the service done on behalf of others (not family members)?
Was the service done to assist others and for the good of the community?
Was this service completed voluntarily and without compensation (grade, class credit, club/sports team requirement or for pay)?
Was this service completed beyond a club’s membership hour requirement?
Was the service done outside the school day or during unscheduled school time?
Is the service consistent with the Lake Forest High School’s Mission and Vision?
**PRESIDENTIAL SERVICE AWARDS**
IF you are submitting for the presidential service award, that deadline is March 15, 2025. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Sabin (tsabin@lfschool.net) or Ms. Malec (amalec@lfschools.net)
**NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY**
For NHS, please review the NHS guidelines on hours. Also, for the NHS application, you will need some sort of digital proof of your hours, which is covered in the document linked. If you have any NHS-based questions, please reach out to Mr. Holmer at cholmer@lfschools.net.
Once you have your service hours entered, please use this Google Form to submit your spreadsheet for service verification by the Student Activities Office.
