Worship Service August 4
“Worthy At Any Size” with Rev. Sara Lewis
Humans are embodied in so many ways, shapes, sizes, abilities, and degrees of something we call “health.” We will explore the spiritually radical act of loving all bodies just as they are.
No more After-Service Forums through August.
The worship service starts at 10 am.

Last Sunday's Worship Service
Pastoral Care Team
Congregants, please remember that Rev. Mary’s absence does not mean that spiritual or emotional support is absent, too! The Pastoral Care Team (PCT) is a caring group of individuals who serve at the invitation of Reverend Mary and extend the care of the congregation to those who are in special need.
If you would like support from the Pastoral Care Team, you can identify members on Sunday mornings or at other church events by looking for the green Pastoral Care stoles they wear. If you are not physically at church, you can reach out via email at pastoralcare@ouuc.org, and a team member will get back to you shortly to see how they can be of service.
Your Pastoral Care Team members are as follows:
Tiny Little News Show
Tiny Little News is off this week.

Battery Drive this Sunday!
It's the first Sunday of the month and time again to bring in your dead fluorescent bulbs and batteries!
The OUUC Environmental Action Team will see that they are properly disposed or recycled. Come by our table in the Commons and see what other things your EA Team is up to!
Death Cafe at OUUC
Monday, August 5, 4:30-6 pm
Join us for the first of our monthly Death Cafes at OUUC, supported through Pastoral Care & Adult Faith Development and facilitated by Jenee Wolfram, certified End of Life Doula.
Death Cafes are an informal, death positive, group-led space for conversations about all things death and dying. They are intended to be a safe space for people to discuss death openly, confidentially, and judgment-free without a specific agenda. It is not intended to be a grief support group, but a sharing of personal stories, experiences, ideas, concerns, and feelings around death and dying. Know that it is also OK to just come and listen.
There’s no registration required. This is a drop-in program. All are welcome! Let’s normalize conversations around death and dying, bringing this long taboo topic out into the light. And, did I mention THERE WILL BE TEA & CAKE!?!

Quick Notes
Save the Date: Celebration of Life for Barry Zickuhr, Saturday, September 14, 1 pm. Additional details will be posted on the OUUC website and in this newsletter closer to the date.
Beware of periodic scammers via email and text. You may be contacted by scammers impersonating Rev. Mary or other church staff. Scammers also try to reach people via text. Often, they will ask for you to contact them right away, and they may ask for financial assistance/information or contact information of others at the church. Always double check and make sure the email or text was sent from a source you recognize. Scammers will create new addresses that appear like a known email address. When in doubt, check in with the person in your life who appears to be trying to contact you, using a known contact method.
Safety Reminder: Please lock and remove valuables from your vehicles.
Download the flyer below if you would like a list of OUUC events for the summer. Great for posting on your refrigerator!
