Dear DPM Families,
It’s hard to believe, but we are already a third of the way through the school year! Families will be receiving their student’s Trimester 1 Report Card next week with grades and comments from their teachers. We want to thank our students, staff, and families for all of their hard work toward making learning come alive at Deer Path since August.
We also want to take a moment to recognize the generosity of the DPM community for their generous donations to the Spirt of 67 Crosstown Contest. Deer Path is honored to be the first school in the district to reach its participation target. The funds from the Crosstown Content Grant will be used to enrich the educational experience of our students. Already this year alone, our DPM students have had the opportunity to work alongside guest authors, artists, musicians, and filmmakers. All of that would not be possible without the unwavering support of the Spirit. Thank you to all who contributed!
Crosstown Contest
Thank You Spirit! A special thanks to our Deer Path Spirit Donor Relations Reps, Brenda and Gail, for their support!
Visiting Artist Jeffrey Brown
Today, Mr. Brown worked with our 8th grade Social Studies classes to teach them how to draw comic panels that depict the historical figures they were researching.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Important Safety Reminder for Bicyclist and e-Scooters:
We are reaching out with an important reminder regarding bicycle/scooter safety for students traveling to and from school. We ask for your support in reinforcing safe habits, particularly at intersections, to help ensure the well-being of all our students.
Please remind your children to:
- Always slow down and stop at intersections: Many intersections, especially the major ones on the route to school, require extra caution. Slowing down and stopping gives students a chance to check for any oncoming vehicles and make safe decisions before crossing.
- Wear a helmet: Wearing a helmet is essential for safety and the best way to protect yourself.
- Walk your wheels: To avoid collisions with pedestrians, please remind your child to walk scooters and bikes in the Central Business District.
Our goal is to help students develop safe riding habits and arrive at school safely each day. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for encouraging these important safety practices.

District 67 News
Winter MAP Testing
District 67 students in grades 2-8 will take the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) from December 3-5.Makeup tests will take place through December 13.
Please make sure your student brings a fully charged iPad to school every day while testing.
MAP is a Common Core-aligned, adaptive, computer-based assessment. This nationally normed assessment is designed to measure growth over time in the areas of reading and math and is an indicator for how a student may perform on the Spring Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) state assessment. The District utilizes the achievement and growth data from MAP to inform instructional planning for individuals and groups of students; and measure growth from year-to-year.
Catch the Highlights of the Annual Great Full Market!
Co-hosted by School Districts 65, 67, and 115, this free farmers market and family festival invited Waukegan residents to gather for fresh produce, pantry items, and festive fun. Families enjoyed treats like hot chocolate and churros, while kids got involved with Lotería, face painting, and crafts led by Lake Forest and Lake Bluff students.
