Hello STEM Academy of Hollywood Community,

Please allow me to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. I am honored to begin my second year as the Principal of the STEM Academy of Hollywood. I am excited and proud of all the accomplishments that our STEM community made last year. We achieved 100% graduation, 100% FAFSA submission, 93.1% Career Pathway Completion rates, Preliminary SBA data shows improvement in Math and ELA, many of our students received sizable scholarships from the ACE program and private universities, the Robotics Club won First Robotics CA Rookies of the Year, ACE Mentoring students received second place in the National Construction Industry Round Table competition, and our seniors won third place in the BUILD competition. All these accomplishments would not have been possible without your support, dedication, and passion.

I am confident that this new school year will be full of more achievements, productivity and growth. We will work together to create a year of excellence as we continue our focus on students' achievement, addressing our students’ social-emotional needs and maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Collectively, we will provide a place where students feel confident, supported, and prepared to meet the demands of high school and post-secondary life.

The first day of instruction is Monday, August 12th at 8:30am students need to report to their Advisory classes. We will have a modified Bell Schedule this week: Monday 8:30am-2:15pm, Tuesday/Thursday 8:30am-2:30pm and Wednesday/Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.

We encourage you to make a difference in the governance of our school by participating in this year’s English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) and School Site Council (SSC). Listening, elevating, and acting upon the voices of our students and community members promotes deeper engagement and improves our ability to serve responsively. We will hold orientation and election meetings on Thursday, August 29th from 9-11 in the Parent Center.

I am committed to focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with students, teachers, staff, and families. I look forward to this year and to sharing our success and challenges as we all work together to continue building a better school community for our students. • 8/22 & 8/23 iReady Beginning of the Year: All students will be taking the ELA and Math iReady assessment. A modified schedule will be shared next week.
