Greetings
Dear Bruin Families and Students:
Happy Friday Bruins!
A quick correction to my previous communications. Brighton Clean Sweep and BHS Spring Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 18th, not the 11th. Teams, clubs, or individual students are welcome to come to BHS at 9:00 AM on May 18th and meet in Room 262 for breakfast and clean up assignments. We will be picking up trash on the entire BHS, TCMS, and Central Office campus from 9:30-11:00 AM. Sign up on the BHS MAIN OFFICE – free t-shirt and breakfast! The town will provide lunch at 11:30 at FRES.
May/June are also fun months full of many wonderful student events. Check out this list:
Thanks,

Celebrating in MAY...
Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) is an annual recognition and celebration of American Jews' achievements and contributions to the United States of America during the month of May. During this month we recognize Jewish contributions to American culture, history, military, science, government, and more. To learn more about Jewish American Heritage, please check out these resources.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPI Heritage Month). This month is an annual celebration that recognizes the historical and cultural contributions of individuals and groups of Asian and Pacific Islander descent to the United States. Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month began as a week-long celebration in the late 1970s that extended into a month-long celebration in 1990. The month of May was chosen in honor of the first Japanese immigrants who came to the United States and the completion of the transcontinental railroad, which both occurred during May. Today, AAPI communities speak over 100 languages in over 50 ethnic groups throughout the U.S., with ties tracing back to Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Korean, Hawaiian and other Asian and Pacific Islander ancestries.
If interested, families can celebrate together with free admission at the Memorial Art Gallery.
Thoughtexchange: parent/family survey
Our district values input from families, and we need to hear from you!
In order to learn more about family experiences within Brighton, we are asking for your feedback via an online survey about school perceptions, engagement, and school environment. The survey data is collected by individual school buildings. Families can choose to take the survey multiple times for different school buildings or complete one survey for your oldest child in district.
All survey responses are confidential. No one within our district will see how you individually respond to the questions. A separate organization, Thought Exchange, will manage all data collection to ensure confidentiality.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will be an invaluable source of information for us as we work to make our school community as excellent as it can be. This summer, Building School Based Equity Teams and the District Leadership team will be reviewing the data to support building and district plans and goals for the 2024-2025 school year.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Thought Exchange at 1-800-361-9027 ext. 4 or help@thoughtexchange.com if you have any questions about the survey administration. We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses.
