Open House for New Families
On Thursday night we held an Open House for new families. This was a great night for interested families to stop in, meet teachers, explore the campus, and learn more about CCS.
On March 1st we entered our open enrollment season. Our prayer is that families seek God first in any decision they make and that we can be a blessing to them.

Upper School ACEA Music Competition
Upper school music students competed on Friday in the ACEA Music and Speech Competition. Our chorus group received a superior score at the arts festival in Birmingham and placed 2nd in the Youth Choir Division. Individual performers were Vella Richter and Asa Haynes.
Everyone did a fantastic job! We love seeing our students use their God-given talents!
Later this week some of our elementary students will also be competing in the ACEA competition.

Update on the CHOOSE ACT
The school choice act, HB129, known as the Choose Act passed the Alabama House of Representatives by a vote of 69 yeasand 38 nays. It now goes to the Senate Education Finance Committee chaired by Senator Arthur Orr.
Basic components of the bill:
- An Education Savings Account will be $7,000 to be used by qualifying students to pay for tuition and other educational expenses.
- The first and second year (2025 & 2026) those families earning less than 300% of the federal poverty level will be eligible with some priorities.
- Starting in 2027 the bill will be “universal.” All will be eligible.
- Participating schools must be accredited. (CCS is accredited by AdvancEd / Cognia.)
- Transparency and testing is required by a participating school with reporting to the Alabama Department of Revenue.
- The law will be administered by the Alabama Department of Revenue.
- The independence of the school and its religious distinctions are protected. The money goes to the parent, not the school. It is directed to the school by the parent.
PRAYING PARENT TUESDAYS
We believe in the power of prayer!
Each Tuesday morning parents are invited to join together in prayer. As students dismiss to class for the day, parents may gather together in the area behind the gym to pray for our students, faculty, and staff.
