Principal Message
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope that each and everyone of our Wrangler families had a great Winter break!
As we head into 2025, please review the image with such important information regarding attendance and how it adds up. In December, we were able to finish up almost all of our progress monitoring (PM) data, thank you for assisting with this! :) With this, your child's data from their PM 2 assessment is in the parent portal, if you haven't had a chance, please look at it and then set up a parent conference to further discuss:). Remember the goal for the end of the year is a '3' which is considered proficient. If your child did not take their assessment yet, rest assured, they will test soon.
We are looking forward to a strong Semester 2, please reach out to your child's teacher if you need anything 💙💛
Arrival Drop Off
Arrival Drop Off
We have noticed some safety concerns with students being dropped off too early. Unfortunately, this has led to injuries from students playing, running in front of cars, and other unsafe behaviors. To ensure everyone's safety, please do not drop off students before 8:25 AM.
Please also, do not drop off students in the road, the only option for drop off is for students to walk up or be dropped off in the car loop, not the road.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our Wranglers safe!
Volunteering/ Chaperoning
Volunteering/ Chaperoning
As we move into the Spring, I wanted to remind families that being a volunteer or chaperoning field trips involves applying through the district as well as doing fingerprinting ($41.25 per person which covers 5 years). If you are interested in volunteering for things such as supporting field day, chaperoning field trips, or other school events, please be sure to take care of this sooner than later.
All details, procedures, and the application can be found here:

Counselor's Corner
Welcome Back and Happy New Year! The new year can be a great time for setting goals that involve your children. Help your child be S.M.A.R.T. about goal setting. A S.M.A.R.T goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. When helping children set goals, it is important to encourage them to not only identify the goal but to also be able to know when they have reached it! Children often need help and support from adults to reach their goals. Have your child write down their goal and hang it where they can see it daily. Talk to your child about how they are going to reach their goal. Reward your child for making steps in the right directions. Examples of rewards can be verbal praise, earning stickers for their sticker chart, an activity of choice at home, or going to a special place. Be patient with your child when he or she does not reach their goal. Encourage them to try again and adjust the goal if needed. Set a good example for your child by also writing down S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need some guidance with setting goals for your children.

School Wide Expectations
Be Responsible: Being responsible is coming to school on time, being prepared and ready to learn, and using good character. It is important to do what is expected and always try your best.
Be Safe: Being safe is making choices that keep yourself and others free from harm. We work hard on teaching Self Control. This is keeping hands, feet, hurtful words and objects to ourselves.
Parents and families can reinforce these same ideas at home and in the community. When we are all using the same language, a child can truly understand and practice these skills.
School Lunches
Pasco County Schools Food & Nutrition Services will be implementing a program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). All enrolled students of Pasco County Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to their household. No further action is required. Students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. A la carte items will still be available for purchase including additional meals and/or components of the meals. Families can reach out to Food & Nutrition Services directly through Let’s Talk, call FNS at 813.794.2480, or email FNS_Finance@pasco.k12.fl.us if they have any questions regarding this new program.
Parents are highly encouraged to make advance payment for a la carte items by utilizing www.MySchoolBucks.com. Any check made to Woodland Elementary that is returned for insufficient fund will be assessed a $25.00 fee.
Cell Phone Policy
For all Pasco County Schools
Grades Pre-K through 5: Students in grades Pre-K through 5 who bring WCDs (wireless communication devices) to school must ensure that they remain on silent mode and completely out of view for the entire school day. Classroom teachers may also provide, and student may utilize, a cell phone storage area in their classroom. Students will need to put their cell phones on silent and their smart watches and put them in the bookbags once arriving on campus each day. Please have a conversation with your child prior to the first day of school so they know that they MUST silence their devices and put them away during the ENTIRE school day- no exceptions. Refer to pg. 32 of the Student Code of Conduct for more details and corrective actions/confiscation of device procedures.
