The mission of Maria Montessori Academy is to provide an individualized education that promotes academic excellence founded on the authentic philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Maria Montessori Academy will craft each child’s education in partnership with educators and parents to achieve higher levels of academic, personal and social achievement, thereby preparing students to become constructive contributors to their community.

Family Newsletter September 6, 2024

Dear Families,

It’s been a fantastic week! We reached 93% attendance! Thanks for working with your student(s) to be at school on time, everyday! It makes a difference in student/teacher relationships, continuity of learning, and routines and procedures.

Lower elementary studio rotations began and our junior high media studies mentoring program kicked off with Ms. Lisa! Our flag football team won 14-12 against Mound Fort and girls soccer battled Mount Ogden valiantly.

Upcoming is our first field experience for 6-9th grades. They will experience the beauty of North Fork Park in Ogden Valley! Flag football games are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Girls soccer is on Monday and Friday. Please see the schoolwide calendar for exact times/locations.

The Stand for the Silent assembly for 7-9th graders and 4th-6th grade HOPE squad members will be held on September 10th from 10 -11am. A free parent event will be held the same evening from 5-7:30pm. As a Utah school we are required to provide training on these topics. If your child may be adversely impacted by this topic, you may elect to have your student not participate by completing and returning this form.

Below is a list of resources provided by the state for your information.

“Going out” and Field experiences are an essential and unique part of the Montessori program. If you’d like to volunteer to chaperone a trip please be sure to have your fingerprinting and background check completed. You can do this on September 17th from 2-4pm! There are many free opportunities to learn outside of the school building, but buses are expensive and will cost approximately $3000 to take our lower elementary classes to the zoo. Please consider donating to our yearly field experience budget at this link.

Thank you for following all pick up and drop off procedures. Ensuring student safety is our top priority. If you have suggestions about how to improve our procedures or you have time to support us during pick up and drop off please reach out to me.
