A Note from the FMS Administrative Team
FMS Families,
Welcome to our latest school newsletter! We are excited to share the latest happenings at Frontier Middle School. Inside, you will find important updates, upcoming events, and student achievements.
Stay informed with our Daily Announcements, created by Mr. Rumbo's talented 8th Grade Publications Class. Visit our school website for the latest updates.
FMS has received feedback from the Sommerlin HOA regarding student drop-offs in the neighborhood. To ensure a smooth and safe morning routine for everyone, please drop off your student directly on the FMS campus. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
To make your child's check-in and check-out process as efficient as possible, we kindly request that you have the barcode image from the Focus app ready when visiting the school. This will significantly speed up the process. Please remember to also have your photo ID with you. Thank you for your cooperation.
As a friendly reminder, outside food is permitted only for birthdays, as previously communicated. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kathryn Greer, Principal
Mr. Eric Eubank, Assistant Principal (Sixth Grade)
Mr. Kevin Kuehl, Assistant Principal (Seventh Grade)
Mr. Adam Bender, Assistant Principal (Eighth Grade)
iReady Incentive -- Donations Needed!
Student testing plays a crucial role in assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement, and providing valuable data to inform our instructional practices.
With your generous donation, we can motivate and incentivize our students. Your contribution will directly support:
- Diagnostic assessments: These assessments help to pinpoint specific learning challenges and guide targeted interventions.
- Progress monitoring assessments: These assessments allow us to track student progress over time and make adjustments to our instruction as needed.
Please use this link to donate!
Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

Whether it's a teacher who has gone above and beyond, an Instructional Assistant who has provided exceptional support, or a staff member who has made a positive impact on your child's life, we want to hear about it!

WSD Inclement Weather Procedures
As we approach the colder months, we want to re-share the District communication that has information regarding the WSD's inclement weather procedures for the 2024-25 school year. This year, snow days one and two will be traditional snow days. After our second snow day this year, we will switch to AMI (alternative methods of instruction) for snow days three through seven. Read more on what to expect this winter here. View AMI assignments here.
