MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY, MAY 27 — NO SCHOOL
Monday is Memorial Day so there will be NO SCHOOL. Enjoy the long weekend!
MESSAGE FROM MS. CONSTANCE
Dear Atkinson parents and friends,
The response to our Run for Atkinson fundraiser for a full time Ms. Katie next school year has been tremendous. We have raised enough to fund a .98 Ms. Katie, and have just .02 FTE to go! It will make such a difference for our student's well being to have two full time office assistants to lessen the administrative burden on our specialists, psychologist, and counselor. Please encourage sponsors to fulfill their pledges by Friday, May 31. Use a credit or debit card to contribute online at fundforpps.org/donate. Select the "Donate to a Specific School or Program" button, then use the "Purpose" menu to select Atkinson Elementary School.
I also want to take this moment to personally express my gratitude for the longstanding support of this very special community. I'm reminded of that spring when parents rallied to help in the the office after we lost our school secretary and our principal, and continued to support us in the fall by advocating for an interim principal who was already a part of the Atkinson community and by putting together a sign-up for volunteer office helpers. We would never have survived those stressful times without your steadfast literal and moral support! It was invaluable, and very moving. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your commitment to our Atkinson family over the years, and for continuing to support our little office with contributions to have the amazing Ms. Katie with us full time next year. Together, I know we can do it!

FIELD DAY
Tuesday, May 28, is Field Day (BEST DAY EVER!) If you would like to help out on this fabulous fun day, please sign up on the Field Day document. The more help, the better! Station descriptions and expectations are linked in the sign-up sheet. Please contact me if you have any questions!
Please also note there will be many stations involving water, so you many want to send your child with an extra change of clothes that day!

ATKINSON YARD SIGNS AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE
We are proud of our school! Our students, staff, and families make Atkinson a great place to learn and grow. These yard signs communicate to neighborhood parents of future students that they can trust their neighborhood school. Thank you, PTA for providing these at no cost to families. If you haven't already picked up your yard sign, please come by the office to grab one or reach out to president@atkinsonpta.org to find a way to get one. Let's show our Atkinson Spirit!
SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL SURVEY NOW OPEN
The Successful Schools Survey is an opportunity for students, staff, and families to provide important feedback on their school environments, learning experiences, and sense of well-being and safety at school. The survey is conducted once every school year to provide timely information to schools, district leadership, and the community, allowing us to make informed decisions about school climate and culture. This year, the survey window is open May 6–31.
You can complete the Successful Schools Survey online using the link provided below. Please complete one survey per household. If you have more than one student at PPS, we ask that you complete the survey considering the experiences of your eldest child.
The survey will take approximately 15–30 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese and Chinese.
