Wow, summer has flown by! I hope everyone enjoyed their break and is ready for a fantastic new school year. I’m thrilled to return for my fourth year as your Behlau librarian and am eager to continue supporting both students and teachers.

This newsletter will be your monthly update on exciting library events and promotions. Please remember that everything is subject to change, but I’m confident that together we’ll find the best ways to support our students and make this year a great one.

The library is open Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 3:00 PM, unless otherwise noted on the library calendar or posted on the library door.

Students may exchange their books daily before or during the school day.

Parents are welcome to visit from 7:15 to 7:45 AM with a FAST PASS only.

The safety of our students and staff is my top priority. We practice drills within the library to ensure that everyone remains safe in unforeseen circumstances. Knowing and following our library procedures is vital to maintaining a secure environment.

We will continue with our FIXED/FLEX A & B schedule. This means:

• Teachers will choose a day every other week for their class to visit the library for lessons and book check-outs.
• Schedules may change based on coverage or other duties.

Important Notes:

• I will send reminders via email about your library week, day, and time.
• Teachers should remind students and parents of their library day.
• If you’re running 5 minutes late, I’ll give you a courtesy call.

Pre-K, Kinder & 1st grade= 1 book at a time

2nd - 5th grade = 2 books at a time

Teachers- unlimited books for 30 days

Parents = 5 books at a time (under students account)

books are due back every 2 weeks or sooner. Students may exchange their books daily before or during the school day.

Overdue/damaged notices will be sent for book collection or for payment.

*My School Bucks payment ONLY.

• Printers may be used for STUDENT WORK ONLY, so please use the follow me printers for personal use.
• 3D printers may not be taken out of the library. Any prints needed must be approved by the librarian.
• Library devices must stay in the library.
• Device questions must be emailed to the TSS.

We're thrilled to announce that the Behlau Library has been awarded a grant to purchase a new book vending machine! This exciting addition will allow students to select their own books as rewards for reaching goals and demonstrating good behavior.

To make this initiative even more successful, we invite parents to contribute by purchasing new books through the following link. Your generous donations will directly benefit our students, fostering a love of reading and supporting their continued growth.
