Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians-

Thank you for taking the time to read my monthly newsletter. We are nearing the end of February, with spring break for students and staff just around the corner.

I am looking at a few options to get feedback and input from our parents & guardians. First, check out the graphic below for my first offering of "Coffee with Kilton", which is scheduled for 9:00 AM on Friday, March 7th in the lobby in the Howards Grove Center for the Arts. There will be no set agenda for this coffee chat, instead an open forum for anyone to come in and ask questions, chat about concerns, share a success story, or just hang out and listen while enjoying a cup of coffee. I hope to see you there!

Next, I am looking to start a Parent Advisory Committee. The purpose of this committee is to:

• Review and provide input on district policies

• Offer perspectives on any upcoming curriculum changes and new educational programs

• Develop effective communication strategies between the district and families

• Enhance engagement with families and foster a more connected school community

• Ensure many perspectives are considered in our decision-making processes

• Collaborate on problem-solving for issues impacting our students' education and well-being

If you are interested in potentially being a part of this committee, please fill out the Google Form and provide me your contact information. I will be in touch in the near future for setting up our first meeting.

Thanks for supporting the School District of Howards Grove!

Sincerely,

Shannon Kilton

Superintendent

Here are some of the highlights of our construction project. In addition to the typical monthly pictures, I have also created a video tour of the site. Please pardon my camera work, as I am an educator not a film producer, but it's worth the sneak peak of the new middle school.

Thank You!

We enjoyed a delicious pancake dinner, great company, and even a visit from Pete the Cat and the Cat in the Hat! Your support made the event a huge success, and every book purchased helped us earn rewards to bring even more books into our classrooms.
