Electronic Devices/Smart Watches
Due to recent issues regarding the use of smart watches at school, we want to remind everyone that smartwatches do count as personal electronic devices and fall under the same regulations as cell phones. Per the district policy, “all personal electronic devices must remain out of sight and be silenced during the school day”. This means that if students bring their smartwatches to school, they should be kept in their backpacks while they are on campus.

Students should be getting the Green Light in Reflex every night (Monday - Friday) each week. They know what this means. Sometimes, they have time to finish in class. They can show you in the top right corner of the computer program if they have earned the Green Light that day. Reflex is a computer program purchased by our school to build their fluency skills with basic math facts (multiplication and division through 12s). This is key to success in 5th grade Math this year!
Also, please take a moment to check out the updated information in the Math section of our 5th grade website. There are videos and tips for helping your child to have a successful year of growth in Math. You can access our 5th grade website through the Woodland website or by clicking here.
Reminders for Parents and Students
Please keep in mind the rule for length of shorts in our WES Handbook and help us by checking your child's clothing to make sure it follows the rules: *The length of properly worn shorts, skirts, and skorts must be no shorter than the mid-thigh. *No tube tops, halter tops, or spaghetti strap tops. Tank tops straps must be an inch wide. *Dresses must not be shorter than mid-thigh.
Bring CHARGED Chromebooks to school each day.
- Please remember that our 5th graders' bodies are changing as they are growing. We are encouraging the kids to dress for the weather, wear deodorant, and have water bottles with them to stay hydrated.
- Have a set of headphones and pencil pouch of supplies that can stay at school.
