Lockdown Standard Response Protocol Reminders:
Our school is responsible for facilitating various safety drills and protocols throughout the school year. Monthly fire drills, along with state tornado drills are conducted according to both state and district guidelines. Lockdown drills are also a part of this work in that we must conduct at least three drills during the school year. Note the various stages of the the protocol and that a lockdown evacuation could also occur due to natural disasters, etc. We will facilitate a lockdown drill in the next two weeks. Note that this means that if you are on our campus, you will be unable to enter our front office until the drill is completed. A copy of the SRP (Standard Response Protocol) is being shared below . Please don't hesitate to reach out if there are any questions or concerns. Note that we share limited information in order to ensure that safety protocols are not potentially compromised.
SEL UPDATES
Start With Hello
The character trait for the month of September is RESPONSIBILITY!
Responsibility- Being dependable in words and actions.
September 16-September 20th is Start With Hello Week. This week focuses on creating a more connected and inclusive school and community. Or more simply put – to make a difference in someone’s life. By simply starting with hello, we can foster friendships and help others to feel accepted, included, and valued.
The 3 steps are 1. See Someone Alone 2. Reach Out and Help 3. Simply Start With Hello
Make Someone Smile Monday- Say hello or greet someone, give a compliment, or smile!
Take the Pledge Tuesday- Sign the Start with Hello Pledge. Please have each child sign the pledge and post in your room. I will have those in your mailboxes soon.
We are United Wednesday-Wear anything green to show unity!
Talk about it Thursday-Start a conversation with someone and see what you both have in common.
Find A Friend Fri-YAY- Find a new friend to invite to join you in a game or activity!
