On Friday, November 22, 2019, the Science department hosted faculty, staff, and students from the Rutgers University School of Nursing. This was a great opportunity for students to learn about the vast array of opportunities in the field of nursing as well as enjoy a student's perspective on nursing who is a sophomore in Rutgers school of nursing. AULCS students are encouraged by Paula Venable (Admissions Administrator, Rutgers school of nursing-EOF program) to apply for EOF program. EOF scholars are offered additional student support services including academic advising and coaching, personal counseling and mentoring, in addition to career and financial aid counseling. Overall, this was a very informative session for our students.

What is digital learning?

Digital learning is any type of learning that is accompanied by technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use of technology.

Daily tutoring and homework assistance will precede enrichment activities running from 4 PM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday.

Activities include:

• Monthly Field Trips to Colleges & Universities, Liberty State Park, Thomas Edison Museum and New York City Historic District Tour.
• Music
• Cooking
• Gaming
• Fashion Design
• American Sign Language
• Art and Dance

Founded in 2010 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School is one of Middlesex County's comprehensive Public Charter Schools that serves students in seventh through twelfth grades. The school operates under the terms of a charter granted by the New Jersey Department of Education.

When the school first opened in 2010, it did not have the books, tables, or classrooms necessary for students to be in an adequate learning environment. Even the principal, at the time, had to serve as a lunch aide. Since then, AUL has developed to help students receive the education they deserve. AUL has expanded by opening two new campuses, expecting to provide the opportunity for students to continue to succeed, with graduation and college admission, as two of its goals.

AUL offers an advanced academic track and AP courses.
