  As we approach the holiday season, we are prioritizing Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) by encouraging kindness, gratitude, and community building throughout our school. This season provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what we are thankful for and to give back to those in need. Our school community is engaging in R.O.A.R. Moments and activities that focus on empathy, collaboration, and the importance of supporting one another.

  
  

  It has been an exciting and eventful time at CMIT-South! Our high school students are wrapping up their Homecoming Spirit Week, and what a fantastic celebration it has been! From creative spirit days to fun-filled events, students showcased their school pride and came together as a community. Thank you to all the families who supported this memorable week—your involvement makes all the difference!

  
  

  Middle school scholars are up next! It is our tenacious middle scholars time to show their spirit and celebrate our AMAZING school community during Middle School Spirit Week beginning Monday, December 16th. Please see the flyer below for details. We can’t wait to see our middle schoolers show their Tiger pride and participate in the fun!

Are you looking to boost your Spanish skills this year? If so, don't miss the opportunity to attend Ms. Tejeda's Spanish tutoring sessions! She offers personalized assistance for both middle and high school students every Thursday after school from 3:00 to 4:15 PM in room 162. This is your chance to gain confidence and improve your understanding of the language. For any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. Tejeda at ytejeda@cmitsouth.org. Attached you will find the new sibling preference form for the 2025-2026 year lottery. This form must be submitted along with the online lottery application. The lottery application will be opened from November 1, 2024 -February 7, 2025.

Please note:
Sibling preference is not guaranteed and is based on seat availability for that particular grade level.

To CMIT parents/guardians

Please encourage your scholar to bring in their water to school or water bottle for refill. The school nor the nurse's office do not provide bottle water or cups to student.

If you know your child is experiencing any of the flu- like symptoms please monitor him/her before sending to school. COVID is still around

Support the CMIT South Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball teams this season. Check the schedule for upcoming games. All tickets must be purchased through Ticket Spicket.

Mark your calendars! Homecoming 2024 is just around the corner, happening NEXT WEEK! Please refer to the attached flyer for details on Homecoming Spirit Week Days, which will take place from Monday, December 9th to Friday, December 13th.

Attention Middle School Tigers:

It's the season of love, joy, and peace! The Middle School Student Government Association (MS SGA) invites you to spread some holiday cheer and show your school spirit by participating in our Winter Spirit Week! It will be held the week of Dec. 16th-20th!!! We cannot wait to see your school spirit. We anticipate an amazing week full of fun and excitement.

Please dress appropriately and follow the expectation for each day! DO NOT wear any of the following...pajamas slippers, leggings, jeans/pants with holes/rips, inappropriate shirts with profanity, insensitive graphics, offensive racial slurs, short skirts, crop tops, or revealing clothing, etc.

Thank you in advance for making our Winter Spirit Week a huge success!

Do you have tennis shoes that you have outgrown but they're still in good shape? Starting October 14th, we will be collecting gently used ATHLETIC sneakers. There will be a donation bin located in the main entry way of the school.

A little more about Got Sneakers ...

Got Sneakers extends the life of and recycles sneakers for those in need. In return, CMIT South will receive up to $7 for each pair donated.

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a school-based organization made up of parents, guardians, teachers, staff and administrators who work together to supplement and enrich the educational experience at CMIT Academy South Middle and High schools.
