2024-2025 CNA STUDENTS
We are very proud to announce that our Certified Nursing Assistant students started their clinical assignments today at local healthcare facilities. The purpose of CNA clinicals is to provide students with real-world experience to apply their classroom knowledge and skills, and for students to earn the necessary hours for them to sit for their CNA exam.
BANCROFT CONTRACTING VISIT BATH TECH
Ryan, from Bancroft Contracting visited Bath a tech on Thursday, October 31st. Ryan gave an overview of the projects and jobs that Bancroft works on. After the talk, he did an in-depth workshop on concrete forms with the carpentry program. They had to assemble a form for a corner. Not as easy as you would think! Thank you Ryan for spending the day with us.
BREAKS IN AUTO
CARPENTRY VISITS OPBOX
The PM carpentry students recently visited OpBox, a sustainable construction company in Woolwich that builds structures using recycled plastic materials. Currently, OpBox is working on a significant project for Clynk, creating buildings that will be placed throughout the state. They construct various sizes: 24', 32', and 40', and can complete these structures in about a week. This visit gave students insight into innovative and eco-friendly building practices.
COSMETOLOGY VISITS SPA TECH
Last Thursday, juniors and seniors from the Cosmetology Program visited Spa Tech in Westbrook. They explored the 16,000 sq. ft. facility, watched Aesthetics, Cosmetology, and Barbering students at work and had a Q&A session with the instructors. This visit gave our students a good look at what to expect in post-secondary cosmetology and got them excited about their future careers! Thank you to MELMAC for providing funding for this trip!
HOMETOWN CAREERS DAY
On October 24th, Morse and Bath Tech combined to attend the Hometown Careers Day put on by JMG. Students had the opportunity to explore various careers in their hometowns, connect with local professionals, and experience the MidCoast campuses of UMA and SMCC. They also learn about early college opportunities, gaining valuable insight into future academic and career paths.

MAXIMIZING PAYLOAD
The Pre-Engineering students are taking a quick break from their microcontroller programming and have been tasked with creating a tinfoil boat that maximizes payload. They needed to come up with an idea for their design, create a scaled drawing, get it approved, then move on to building, testing, and redesigning.

Location: Montgomery Auditorium, Morse High School/Bath TechRSU1 and the Sagadahoc Sheriff's Office have partnered together to invite parents, guardians, and caregivers to an Internet Safety Night. Come learn how to talk to students about what they see on the internet, as well as ways they can avoid being victimized on the internet. The Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office, a local affiliate of Maine State Police Computer Crimes, has been working with RSU1 to share internet safety presentations to its students. These presentations cover privacy and security on the internet, good citizenship, and social media use. This new presentation is designed for adults trying to guide and safeguard their students online.
