Pick-Up and Drop-Off Reminder
Students eating breakfast may arrive at 7:30 A.M. All other students should not arrive at school before 7:45 A.M. We do not have adult supervision for students until 7:45. At 7:55, the bell for students to begin moving to their classrooms will ring. At 8:00, the last bell will ring signaling the start of the school day. Students will be considered tardy at 8:05. Students will be dismissed at 3:20 on regularly scheduled school days and 1:30 on scheduled early release Fridays
All Pre-K students must be dropped off and picked up through hand-to-hand contact with their teacher. There are designated parking spots at the front of the parking lot to help make it easier for you to park and drop off/pick up your students. Students will be dropped off at the east cafeteria doors and picked up at the service door in the same area. If you are running late, you will need to go to the Front Office, sign your student in and will walk them to their class.
If you are using the drop off/pickup line for students, please move through the line as directed and let students out. If you need to exit your vehicle to help your student with car seats or seat belts, please park in the parking lot and walk up to get your student. For student safety, use the sidewalk and crosswalk area when walking to and from the parking lot.
Freedom Walk
Our annual Freedom Walk will take place on Wednesday, September 11. We welcome all families to join us by meeting up with your student(s) along the sidewalk in front of the school that morning at 8:30. We will then walk together by classes and grade levels to the USD 207 Track & Field Complex directly behind the Board of Education. We will sit by grade level for to listen to the guest speakers and then walk back to Eisenhower together. There will be a family picnic that day during students' normal lunch period.
Family Picnic 9/11/24
You are invited to join your student for lunch at our School Picnic!
Following Freedom Walk, we will have an all-school picnic on Wednesday, September 11, 2024! Students will eat at their regular scheduled lunch time. Weather permitting, we will be eating outside.
Parents and siblings are invited to join us for lunch. Guest meals are $2.00 each.
Your lunch WILL be charged to your student's account - NO CASH, PLEASE.
Volunteers will be needed to help prep, serve, and clean up. Volunteers will be needed from 9:00 am - 1:30 pm. Please indicate on the form if you are interested in volunteering and include the timeframe you are available.
If you plan to join us for the picnic, please complete one form per family by Friday, September 6! Just click the link below.
Ready to Volunteer?
We encourage family support at Eisenhower and have many opportunities for volunteers throughout the school year. If you would like to be a volunteer, you can begin the process using the QR code. You must complete the process in order to volunteer.
Opportunities to volunteer include School Pictures (9/3), School Picnic (9/11), Book Fair (10/17-1/22), helping in the Cafe, helping classroom teachers and many more to come.
Updated Attendance Policy
USD 207 has updated their Attendance Policy. Please see Page 4 of the Student Handbook found online for all specifics.
Parent Information Page: https://www.usd207.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=261084&type=d&pREC_ID=2491723
The largest change for our returning families is the requirement of a doctor's note. Per the Handbook:
"There are limitations on the number of school absences that can be excused. Absences in excess of 10 school days per year must be accompanied by a doctor's note in order to be excused. Absences that surpass 10, without the required documentation will be classified as unexcused and count towards truancy. The school will notify the parents of the students who have accumulated excessive excused or unexcused absences."
If your child is absent or you know your child will be absent, PLEASE call or email the Ike Office before 8:15 on the day of the absence. If calling outside of office hours, please leave a voicemail. A school representative will attempt to contact the parents if a student is NOT reported absent. For this reason, we request that you ensure your contact information in Skyward is current at all times.
Picture Day - Sept 3rd
Ike's Fall Picture Day is Tuesday, Sept 3rd. Online ordering may be done at www.strawbridge.net. Our School Code is FM4401776. Envelopes have been sent home if you prefer to order and pay cash/check. These must be returned before picture day, 9/3/24.
If you are interested in volunteering, please see the SignUP Genius link. You will need to complete the Volunteer application as well.

From Our Nurse
Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Anna Robinette and I am the Eisenhower School Nurse. I hope that everyone had a fun and healthy summer! Below are a few important reminders that will help keep our students healthy and safe throughout the school year:
The USD 207 health policy states that all students who have been sent home and/or absent due to fever (99.6 or greater), vomiting, diarrhea or nausea, should not return until the illness has been absent for at least 24 hours without the use of medications.
Per district policy, students are not allowed to have any medication (prescription or over-the-counter) in their possession. All medication must be kept at the nurse’s clinic. I have a standing order to dispense Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Mylanta/Tums, Caladryl and Benadryl. All other medication must have a dispense form signed by the doctor in order to be given at school.
Some student files are still missing essential information. Please continue to provide shot records, physicals (one time requirement for those new to the state of KS and 8 years old and younger), emergency contact numbers and any new health information on your child.
Please call the school for any absence. This allows us to record the absence as excused for illness, appointment, parent request, family trips etc… Otherwise absences will remain unexcused.
Hearing and vision screenings will be held at Eisenhower on November 5th, 6th and 7th. If your child has glasses/contacts, be sure that they wear them during this time. If they have known hearing issues, let me know prior to the screening. They will bring home these results, so check their backpacks.
Thanks in advance for all you do to keep your kids healthy! If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
Anna Robinette, RN
Eisenhower School Nurse
Counseling with Compassion
Character Strong
This month’s focus is Respect. One way to think about respect is “seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care.” Many people feel respected in different ways. We hope this month inspires discussions with your family about what respect means to you and how you can practice it together!
Respect is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Kind. Across grade levels, students will be developing skills like perspective-taking and conflict. Attached you will find the newsletter that reviews respect and contains some valuable suggestions to incorporate this theme at home for the month as well.
Hearts Apart
Fort Leavenworth Unified School District 207 offers a wonderful program we refer to as "Hearts Apart." Hearts Apart is designed to help students cope with the deployment of a parent. Your permission is required for your child to participate.
Hearts Apart provides students and families with a sense of community and belonging district wide. This is a great opportunity for spouses and their children to enjoy good food, relax, and enjoy the conversation and company of others. These events help children and their families understand that they are not alone in their experiences.
