Greeting MyCamp Parents,
My Camp 2023 is on fire! Students are having the best times ever enjoying new experiences and extending their learning. As My Camp staff, we understand how important it is for parents to be able to share in their child’s experiences. Each week, we are committed to providing parents with a recap and highlights of the week before. Additionally, we hope that families enjoy spending time together and doing some of the suggested math and reading activities.
We have also included a parent survey below. We appreciate your feedback on how we are doing and/or suggestions on how to improve! Please take a moment to complete.
As always please do not hesitate to call 972-264-7803 if you have any questions.

NO CAMP on Monday June 19th (HOLIDAY)
My Camp hours: 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Our doors open at 7:30 A.M. from Door 9 (back of the building). Please remember that the first lane is for buses only. If you are in the first lane and buses are coming, you will have to go around. Students are to use the cross walk when getting out of the car. Please follow the direction of traffic that the campus staff is using.
Please have your child(ren) bring with them everyday:
- Charged Ipad
- Water Bottle
- Student ID badge
Parents of afternoon bus riders,
Any student who rides the bus home will need to have a parent (or authorized person who picks them up) meet them at the bus door for their child to be released from the bus. Your child’s school will give you an ID tag that you will show at the bus door for pick up.
Students will not be released from the bus if parents/guardians are in their cars waiting. These are extra measures taken to ensure your child's safety.

- This week, our K-2 campers took a “flight” to the Dallas Aviation Discovery Zone
- Grades 3-5 campers had a blast rolling around at the Arlington Skatium

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Lessons
Did you know we also provide daily Social Emotional Learning Lessons to our campers?
"Social-emotional learning, or SEL for short, is an essential concept within education because it is a framework through which students acquire the skills necessary to navigate through school, working life, and beyond. In particular, the framework helps with self-preservation, self-control, relationship-building, and decision-making." - View Sonic
During My Camp, we provide SEL lessons that will help your student focus and manage their feelings/emotions through stressful situations. Take some time this weekend to ask your student what SEL lessons they learned this week and how they can continue practicing that every day.
To learn more about SEL and how you can continue these lessons at home, please visit https://www.gpisd.org/Page/49354
Have questions or need help with resources?
Liaisons can help answer questions and/or provide district or community resources if additional supports are needed in the home.
Attendance is expected ALL DAY every day for the duration of the camp.
However, we do realize that things happen and your child may need to be
absent due to illness, appointments or family emergencies. In these cases,
please let us know of the absence by calling the front office by 8 a.m.
If it becomes necessary for a student to leave during the day, all
parents/guardians will go to the front door to ring the door bell, and the
office staff will request the student to come to the front office. All
persons checking students out early will be required to show ID to office
personnel or the nurse - this is a safety precaution. If the check-out
person's name is not listed on Skyward, he/she may not leave this campus with the child.
