AJS School Picture Retake Day - October 28, 2024
Last chance to get your school photo taken for the 2024-2025 school year.
Dear Parents,
As we prepare for our upcoming Remembrance Day ceremony on November 8th, we would like to honor the brave men and women who have served in the military. We invite you to send Ms. Moses (ashlyn.moses@eips.ca) a picture of a family member or loved one who has served. Please include the following information with the photo:
- Name
- Rank
- Where they served
These images and details will be included in our slideshow during the ceremony to pay tribute to their service and sacrifice.Additionally, we are looking for students in cadets who would like to participate in the Remembrance Day ceremony. If your child is interested, please have them reach out to Ms. Moses for more information.Thank you for your support in making this a meaningful event.

AJS 2024 Yearbooks
AJS 2024 Yearbooks are ready for pick up at the school office.
These books are for any students that prepaid in Parent Portal last year.
AJS - AMPS Information
There are still boxes of chocolates available - they are the variety packs (3 bars for $5)
Cost is $100 per box (with $20 per box going to your band account!)
Throughout the year we will reach out to band families to ask for assistance with different events and to share information about fundraising events - please ensure you have filled out a membership form so we have your email address as that is our only way to connect with you!

ARDROSSAN GRADE 7 & 8 DRAMA PRESENTS
Ardrossan Grade 7 & 8 Drama present:
Tuesday, October 29 - Harvest Moon
Wednesday, October 30 - The Midnight Society
Doors to the lobby will open at 6:00 PM, the theatre doors will open at 6:15 PM, and the show will begin at 6:30 PM.
Admission to the show is by donation, and all proceeds will benefit the creativity of Ardrossan Drama.
Parental Guidance: Please note that some elements of the show, including technical aspects and storylines, may be frightening for younger audiences. Parental discretion is advised.

Pay school fees online!
School fee information for the 2024-25 school year is now posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. All fees are due within 30 days of being posted. To access your fee information, simply log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and go to “Student Fees.” There you can view your fees and pay them online. If you’re unable to pay your school fees, you can apply to have certain fees waived. The application deadline is Dec. 16, 2024.
NOTE: Don’t forget to also log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal regularly throughout the year. Fees are often added to your child’s account to cover the cost of various school activities such as field trips, class projects, extracurricular activities fees and more.

Your Future: Post-Secondary and Career Fair
Thinking about attending post-secondary school after graduation? Not sure on the career or sector? Plan to attend this year’s Your Future: Post-Secondary and Career Fair.

Alberta Health Services hosts a variety of virtual caregiver information sessions throughout the year focused on ways to support students’ mental health. The sessions are free and geared toward parents, caregivers, teachers and community members who want to learn more about challenges impacting children and adolescents. Session topics include anxiety, ADHD, depression, self-harm, technology, teens and teaching leadership skills, communication, resiliency and more.
