make up this vibrant volunteer community & are indeed, POWERED BY YOU.

These five beautiful outdoor picnic tables were one of the last 5K expenditures to be realized before this year’s school closure. Their cost of $3475 was taken out of the School-Wide Discretionary budget.

Sadly, they won’t be getting much traction this school year, but they will be ready and waiting to durably aid in any future outdoor lunchtimes. THANK YOU to every 5K donor who made this much-needed outdoor upgrade a reality. #keepcedarparkAWESOME

The Cedar Park PTC held its first virtual community meeting on 5/11. Your PTC Board was on hand to give PTC news and Dr. Anderson, CPMS Principal, shared Cedar Park updates.

• 2020-21 PTC Committee Lead Openings

• 2020-21 Budget Discussion

• YTD Treasurer’s Report

During these difficult times, families in our community are struggling with a regular food supply. Fortunately a handful of local organizations are doing their very best to fill this need. Beaverton High School has been serving as a location for Cedar Park families to pick up food boxes. Over the next handful of weeks, they anticipate a shortage of fruits, pasta sauce etc.

If you have the means, please sign up to donate food. Drop off your donation at Cedar Park MS on Wednesday, May 27th between 8-9:00am. A volunteer will be collecting all the items and then dropping them off to Beaverton HS. #poweredbyYOU

Life goes on as we begin planning for next school year. Fun & flexible people are needed to lead the following committees:

• Staff Appreciation: once a month sign-up genius

• 5K: be open & flexible with this event as the fall holds a lot of unknowns

• Student Store: coordinating the school supply store open before school

• 8th Grade Honors Breakfast: coordinating with Cedar Park staff re: decor, food, etc.

• Family Fun Night Liaison: though this is a teacher-run event, help is needed to support Cedar Park staff and help brainstorm ideas/activities

• Art Lit co-lead: need a third co-lead, ideally someone to take over the entire program in 2021-22

• **Directors of Volunteers (co-chair) **Board position: someone to join Jenna Dornblaser and learn the better impact software. Beginning of the school year and the end of the school year are the busiest times. Also requires attendance at PTC Board meetings & community meetings.

Congrats to yearbook cover contest winners Leila Go & Phyllis Legein! Their designs will grace the front and back covers of this year's yearbooks. Although our in person school year was cut short, the yearbook was actually 95% complete because of publishing deadlines. Cedar Park had a team of 28 students who made the hardback yearbook this year.

**Be sure and verify that you didn't purchase one last fall.

8th Grade yearbooks will be distributed during/around the time of the 8th celebration (details TBD).

Current 6th and 7th grade students will have their yearbook available in the fall.

Yesterday, a link was sent via Canvas to all 8th graders asking them to fill out sizes for their parting gift, a t-shirt from Beaverton or Sunset. This is a free t-shirt being given to every 8th grader via PTC funds. Please remind them to fill out the form because.... teens.

In order to encourage our community connection, the Cedar Park PTC has been raffling off $25 Powell's gift cards every Monday to any CPMS staff member who sends in a picture and/or short update from quarantine. This effort has been supported by the Staff Appreciation line item.

Winners have included Ms. Parks, Mr. Murchison, Ms. Frisch, Ms. Hitsman, and Ms. Gladstone-Saucedo. Check out all 27 posts on our Cedar Park PTC facebook page.

Join us via Zoom on Monday, 6/8 at 6:30pm for the final PTC Community meeting of the year. Dr. Anderson and your Cedar Park Board will be on hand to give CPMS and PTC updates. Major agenda items include voting in next year's Board & approving the 2020-21 budget.
