Principal's Message
04/01/2025
Dear Cardinal Families,
As we enter April, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible dedication and perseverance our students, staff, and families have shown this school year. Spring brings a renewed energy to our learning community, and we are moving forward with strong momentum into the final stretch of the year.
State Testing Season is Underway
Last week, our 11th-grade students began their state testing, and we are proud of the effort they showed. For those who missed their testing window, we will continue with make-up sessions for approximately 20 students in the days ahead.
Looking ahead, our 4th–8th grade students will test April 7–11, followed by 3rd grade April 14–18. These assessments are a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their growth, and we are confident in their ability to rise to the occasion. We’ve created some fun and meaningful incentives to encourage students to do their best— from smaller raffle items to a gift cards to a favorite place.
WASC Accreditation Visit: May 5–7
This year, our school is participating in a WASC Accreditation review. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is a regional accrediting agency that evaluates schools on their ability to provide high-quality learning experiences and continuous improvement. Our upcoming visit will include classroom observations, staff and student interviews, and a comprehensive review of our instructional program.
WASC accreditation is important because it helps ensure that our school is meeting rigorous academic standards and serving students with integrity and purpose. We look forward to highlighting the great work happening across our school community.
Student Progress Updates
By the end of this week (4/4), students should be at approximately 60% completion in all courses and Module 30 for K–5.
Progress reports were mailed out last week, so families should be receiving an email and/or a printed copy in the mail this week. Please review your student’s progress and, if needed, reach out to their teacher to create a plan to catch up. Staying on track now will make a big difference in how the school year wraps up! Our teachers are here to support you—let’s work together to ensure every student finishes strong.
Learning Beyond the Classroom: Field Trips
We’ve had some exciting opportunities for our students to engage in real-world learning experiences this semester!
-
Our high school students recently visited Las Positas College for a campus tour and career exploration.
-
Middle school students have been enjoying monthly trips to the public library, where they explore new books and build a love for reading.
-
Tomorrow (4/2), our 9th–12th graders will be heading to Alcatraz Island in SF for an unforgettable history experience.
-
Next week, they’ll also visit Delta College, continuing to explore options for life after high school.
-
And in May, our K–5 students will enjoy a special field trip to the movies—a fun way to celebrate a year of hard work and learning!
These experiences enrich our curriculum, build connections, and spark inspiration among our students. Thank you to our families for supporting these meaningful opportunities!
We know this time of year can be challenging, but it’s also a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and how close we are to reaching our goals. I encourage all of our students to stay focused, stay positive, and lean on the support around them. Whether you're completing assignments, preparing for tests, or setting new goals—you are capable, and we believe in you. Let’s finish this year with purpose and pride.
Thank you, families, for your continued partnership and trust. We are grateful to be part of your student’s educational journey.
With Cardinal Pride,
Annabelle Lee
