Hello Longhorn Families,

We’ve had another epic week here at JLMS, we appreciate the continued support and hard work from parents, students, and teachers. Here are some important updates and events for this upcoming week:

Football Game: This Tuesday, we have an away football game.We encourage all of our students to show school spirit by wearing JLMS gear on Tuesday. Kickoff is at 6:30pm at Cypress Creek Middle School and all students must be picked up by 8:30pm .

Volleyball Season: Our volleyball team plays Monday away at Weightman Middle. Our first home game will be this Thursday 9/19 come support our girls. Come out and cheer on our team!

State Mandated Testing: We are continuing FAST testing for 7th and 8th graders this week. Please ensure your child gets good rest and breakfast.

Progress Reports : Progress reports will be available by next Friday, September 20, in the myStudent parent portal. Grades can be access at anytime via myStudent.

Device Policy Reminder: Thank you for all of your help with the use of smart watches, headphones, earbuds, or any Bluetooth speaker sound systems, which are prohibited. All cell phones are required to be turned off and put away during school hours.

Fundraiser: Please consider participating in our school POP fundraiser. It ends 9/24 and our school appreciates any and all participation.

The Pasco County School District is participating in a full-scale K-12 adoption of Science instructional materials aligned to the Florida’s State Academic Standards for Science. We would like to invite you to be part of the narrowing team, which serves to review and narrow the materials submitted by publishers during the adoption process. To submit your interest for an opportunity to serve on the narrowing team, please complete this form. There is an 8-10 evening commitment for this work. A detailed list of courses to be reviewed, dates, and times of narrowing team commitments are available on the instructional materials adoption website. The deadline to submit your interest is September 20, 2024. Parents/guardians selected through the randomized screening process will be notified by October 7 via email. We appreciate your partnership in this very important work.
