Academics
The Literacy Link
Tier 2 Interventions
Tier 2 Interventions are now in the second cycle, and showing great progress. FES has decreased students needing Letter Names and Sounds from 34 to 26 and those needing Vowel/Consonant and/or Vowel/Consonant/Vowel instruction from 74 to 49 students. Students not needing a Tier 2 intervention, because they are fluent and accurate readers, has increased from 95 to 97! Way to go Falcons!
Reminder: FES Reads starts November 4th!
Everyone will be receiving a recording sheet for FES Reads. Simply date and sign verifying that your student has spent between 10 minutes (grades PreK-2) and 15 minutes (grades 3-5) “eyes on print”. Return this sheet on Monday, November 25th to receive an incentive.
The Calculation Station
Our multiplication fluency initiative is in full swing and students are already earning dog tags for mastering their facts. We are so happy to announce our first every Mathlete, Kevin Novembre, who was the first student to master all of his facts! Remember to practice your math facts each night!
Attendance
99 students who earned perfect attendance for the month of October took part in a Halloween Dance & Ice-Cream Party! A great time was had by all. Students got to take part if they missed no days, and did not arrive late, or leave early. Thank you to Mrs. Amy Cheesman, our attendance secretary for planning such a fun event.
Community Schools
Family Engagement
We were thrilled by the many amazing submissions for our Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Each pumpkin was unique, creative, and showed such wonderful effort. We truly loved them all! A big thank you to all the families who participated and put so much hard work into their designs. Your creativity and dedication made this event a memorable one!
