OHS Volleyball Wins COC Conference!!
A massive congrats to our varsity volleyball team who went 9-0 in conference play this season and is the 2023 COC Conference Champs! Ozark clinched the championship after defeating Carl Junction! The team now enters the post-season with the first game of districts versus Waynesville later this week!

It is that time of year again, where your Ozark Tigers take on the Nixa Eagles in the Backyard Brawl on THIS FRIDAY, October 20 at Nixa's Eagle Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
The annual contest is more than a game; it is an opportunity to support Ozark in our "Can the Eagles" competition. The district with the most contributions to Ozark's Least of These will earn bragging rights and the "Can Trophy" award.

This week, OHS Senior Jenna LaBarge has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Jenna is defensive specialist for the Ozark varsity volleyball team, according to Head Coach Adeana Brewer.
"Jenna has been a tremendous vocal leader this season, and has consistently demonstrated her love and passion for this sport in her interactions with her teammates and coaches; her selflessness on and off the court; and the pride she has for her school and community," Brewer said. "Jenna has taken a lead role in our team communication by mentoring younger players and holding high expectations for our program on and off the court. She embodies the meaning of player-led teams and understands they hold the key to success. Her growth as a leader, teammate and player is remarkable. It has been amazing to see her confidence in herself and her confidence in her leadership ability to blossom this season."

This week, OHS Senior Brett Rushing has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Brett is one of two seniors on the Ozark boys swim and dive team. At a recent meet against Camdenton, Brett placed seventh in the 50-yard free race, with a personal best time of 24.26 seconds!

This week, OHS Junior Jaykob Nickel has been selected as Artist of the Week! Jaykob is a key member of Ozark High School's Pride of the Ozark's Marching Band serving as a drum major for the marching season. In addition, Jaykob also has a flute solo in this years marching show, "Weather the Storm". He recently won an award for best soloist at a marching competition at Parkview High School in Springfield!

This week OHS Senior Dan Lupton is our Tiger of the Week! Dan is a member of the Ozark's JROTC program serving as a leader for the organization, according to JROTC Instructor 1st Sgt. William Crawford.
"Dan is a senior on our Raider Team and the team captain," Crawford said. "He has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is a born leader. His leadership has led the Tiger Battalion to continually be among the best JROTC programs in the nation. His leadership on the Raider Team has been instrumental in their continued success."

Meet Theresa Walls!
Theresa Walls is currently the Ozark High School's Color Guard coach, which she has been doing since 2013. Walls was a member of Missouri State University's Color Guard while in college, and is still a staff member and helps out with the color guard. She works in the special education department at OHS and founded the VIP Color Guard, a special education color guard.
"I love the sense of family in the Ozark community," she said. "Teachers, staff, students and fans come together as a family to support the Ozark Tigers."
OHS Football Honors Staff Member at Final Home Game of the Season
A massive congrats to Erin Vernatti who was named Staff Member of the Game at Friday night's football game versus Branson! Erin helps keep our athletics department running smoothly and is a great resource for all of our athletes, coaches and families! OHS football players honored a number of other staff members as a part of the Staff Appreciation Night!
A special shoutout to Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers for sponsoring the Staff Member of the Game award! Thanks for helping us honor our awesome staff!
OHS Speech & Debate Shines at First Contest!
The OHS Speech and Debate team have been working hard and it all paid off during their first competition at Nixa. Olivia Bullinger took first place in Radio Speaking. Adam Lupton took fifth place in Original Oratory. Caroline Cole took fifth place in Humorous Interpretation. Tiya Averett and Kennady Nelson took fifth in Novice Duo. We also had some students that missed placement by a single point. Congratulations to all the students who competed. We are proud of you!
Ozark FFA places 5th in Horse Judging at APHA World Show
Recently, some of Ozark's FFA members traveled to Fort Worth, Texas to judge horses at the APHA World Show. The team placed third in halter, fifth in reasons, and placed fifth overall as a team with Olivia Schupbach as a top 10 individual in halter. We can’t wait to see what this team does as the year progresses!

Meet Ozark Alum, Zac Suman!
Zac Suman (Class of '17) is best known for his time on the Ozark boys swim & dive team! He currently holds the Ozark High School record for 100m free, swimming the event in 49.20 seconds. Suman went on to swim for Maryville University, swimming the 50, 100, and 200 free, as well as the 100 fly.
