Graduation FAQs
How many guests can each graduate bring?
- Each graduate will receive 15 tickets.
What time should graduates arrive at the venue?
- Graduates should arrive by 9:15am to line up
What is the parking situation at the venue?
- Guests are encouraged to park in the 7th Street Garage.
- Each graduate will receive 2 parking passes for free parking to use at their discretion.
What do guests need to know about graduation?
- Guests are invited to be seated between 9:30-9:55 am so that we may begin promptly at 10:00am
- Tickets will be distributed at senior checkout on Friday, May 19. Each graduate will receive 15 tickets- guests must present a ticket to enter the venue
- The ceremony will be livestreamed and recorded for any guests who cannot attend in-person- information to follow
- Photography is permitted without flash.
- We request that all phones and devices are silenced during the ceremony.
Are there any COVID-19 guidelines in place?
- Masks are not required.
- If you are feeling sick, please stay home! The ceremony will be live-streamed and you are welcome to watch from home.
How do I get my cap and gown?
- Graduates must pay for their cap and gown in the main office at DSISD- the cost is $44.
- Cards are preferred. Check/money order payable to DSISD is also accepted.
- Once we have confirmation of your payment, the graduate can pick up their cap/gown from Julia Finlayson on May 19 at senior checkout.

What happens after the ceremony?
- Guests and graduates will have time to take photos and celebrate together. There will not be a formal reception following the ceremony so we invite you to celebrate with friends and family at your locations of choice!
What is the expectation for 9th-11th grade students on May 24?
- 9th-11th grade students will have an asynchronous work day from home. They are encouraged to complete assignments/projects before DOLs.
- They are also invited to join to ceremony to celebrate graduates.
Important Dates for Seniors
Wednesday, May 17
All graduation requirements and class assignments must be completed by 3:30pm this day in order to walk at graduation.
Friday, May 19: 11:30am-12:30pm
Graduates are required to attend to checkout- which includes turning in chromebooks, completing exit survey, picking up graduation tickets/cap and gown, and more.
*Each graduate will be given 15 tickets for the ceremony- a ticket is needed to enter
Friday, May 19: 12:30-2:30pm
Graduates are required to attend rehearsal to participate in the ceremony.
We will also be celebrating you with a special lunch and time to hangout with your fellow graduates.
Interested in giving a speech at graduation?
Interested students should prepare a speech to present to the panel. We have the opportunity to include 1-2 student speeches in the ceremony and would love to choose speeches that best represent the DSISD experience and provide inspiration to the graduates.
