What a fantastic week! We started off with our Beta Club ceremony on Monday and progressed into the Night of the Arts on Tuesday. Ms. Rubinstien and team were able to raise over $4200 for the Arts Department. Thank you to the sponsors and team members who helped this to be such a successful event.

This week, we named our Teacher of the Year and Beginning Teacher of the Year, too!. Congratulations to Ms. Monica Jones and Mr. Jose Quirapas! We are so thankful for all they do, and they are great representatives of the Sullivan faculty!

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our awesome PTO has many treats in store for our teachers and staff, and we are so very thankful! Please see the link lower in the newsletter if you can help them out!

Last, we are at the Progress Reporting period. Please check PowerSchool for updated grades, and remember that tutoring is available until 5:00 Tuesdays through Thursdays, if needed.

Parents, when bringing students to school after 8:25, please enter with your student to sign them in to school for the day.

Also, please do not pick up your students along Caswell, but please come through the car rider line so that we can ensure student safety.

Congratulations to Sullivan Track member Devan Erby. He ran on the RHHS Varsity 4x100 relay team Saturday, April 27 at the Tri County meet finishing 3rd overall. He finished 6th out of 40 competetors in the 100m. Earning points for his team in both events! Go Falcons!

Ms. Rubinstien was nominated for, and received, Dr. Schmolze's "Trusted Professionalism" Rock for going above and beyond in helping Sullivan's Performing Arts and World Language Departments!

I knew from a very young age that I loved fitness, activity, and athletics- with a huge passion for volleyball. I have coached volleyball at Sullivan since my first year and have accrued 2 conference championships with some incredible young ladies!

I am grateful to walk alongside these incredible educators at SMS and lead our students to do great things in life through their education."

Will Easterday is the Band Director here at Sullivan Middle School! He is a graduate of Winthrop University with a bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education. Mr. Easterday also teaches at Rock Hill High School with The Rock Hill High School Marching Band. He is also an avid performer with The Carolinas Wind Orchestra and The Carolina Winds along with maintaining professional affiliations with Phi Mu Alpha, National Association for Music Education, South Carolina Band Directors Association, and South Carolina Music Educators Association. In 2024, Mr. Easterday was the recipient of the Phi Beta Mu Young Outstanding Band Director award. He enjoys watching movies, college basketball, spending time with family and his dog, Max!
