All kids matter, are important, and can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

It has been a great start to the school year at OMS! Students and staff are settling into new routines and schedules, getting to know each other, and digging into curriculum.

If you attended one of the orientations or the Open House, you probably noticed the OMS Pride posters around the building. Our building has many aspects that center around what it means to display Chieftain PRIDE: Perseverance Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Excellence.

OMS has set up electronic PRIDE awards for when students are exhibiting positive behaviors that support our learning environment. If a student receives one of these awards from a staff member, the student and the parent/guardian will receive an email. There will also be weekly drawings to receive awards. At the end of the quarter, teams will select a student of the quarter that will also be recognized.

OMS has also set up electronic Stop & Think tickets which are given when a students need correction for minor behaviors that are negatively impacting the learning environment. If a student receives one of these tickets from a staff member, the student and parent/guardian will receive an email.

This new system should be up and running by September 9th.

Beliefs associated with the PRIDE system include:

• Behavior is a form of communication.

• OMS will set up learners for success by teaching and modeling expected behaviors with opportunities for students to practice behavior and receive feedback.

• Relationships are essential in creating a safe and positive school environment for each unique learner.

• Appropriately documenting student behavior data (both desirable and undesirable) helps guide decisions and practices for individual students and the school.

• OMS staff members are consistent in how they encourage expected behavior and discourage undesired behavior while valuing each individual student.

How to Order?

All galleries will be delivered to parents via email 2-5 business days after picture day. If you order a Package or a BYOP bundle within 7 days of galleries going online, you'll receive a FREE Social Media Image so don't forget to order!

Please write a SEPARATE CHECK for each item above. Fees go into separate accounts, which is why it is important that they are separate checks and/or the correct change is provided.

All vehicles drop off and pick up at the main entrance. Only buses drop off and pick up at the pool doors. Please use the overflow loop in the shared parking lot if there is a line.

Only buses should use the bus exit. This is important safety information to keep our students safe.

During the month of September the OMS students will take the Fall Math and Reading MAP assessment. These assessments will provide information for each student and will help us better understand their academic strengths and needs.
