St Cecilia's News
June 2024
Dear Parents,
As we approach the end of the school year we start to confirm our plans for the new academic year.
Our Year Ahead meetings for the new academic year take place just before the end of term. Don't forget these are the year groups for next year. All meetings take place in the hall. At the end of the meeting there is a summary from the Leadership team, parents attending multiple meetings do not need to stay, we will have a natural break, in case you need to leave.
Years 1 and 2 - Thursday 11 July at 0900
Years 3 and 4 - Wednesday 10 July at 0900
Years 5 and 6 - Monday 15 July at 0900
These meetings will be available via Zoom using this recurring link:

Please keep an eye on our calendar for details of events in the new term.
Summer Concert
Well done to all of our musicians for a beautiful summer concert, it was lovely to see you play and to recognise how much you have learnt, your dedication and passion for music was noted. Our next concert is scheduled for the Autumn term.
Fr Rob from St Cecilia's Church
We are sad to see Father Rob leave us after so many years of commitment to the parish community. We will miss his involvement in school and wish him well as he moves on to a new role. We will be saying goodbye to him on Thursday 11 July with a special assembly with the children which will be followed by a staff event.
Good luck to all of our athletes who are competing at the Sutton Catholic Schools event this afternoon.
Best wishes for the weekend,
Vince Burke
Headteacher

Parent's Wellbeing and Mental Health Coffee Morning
The coffee morning will explore parent well being and mental health and our guests will be Nibby Withers, former CAMHS Nurse Specialist and Jackie O’Leary, specialist behaviour practitioner both from Sutton’s Paving The Way Team.
We know that being a parent or carer isn’t always easy. Although it’s often amazing and rewarding to watch your children or young people grow up, it can also be really hard work. Things might feel especially difficult if your child or young person is struggling themselves with their learning, mood or behaviour.
Come along and spend some time (around an hour) considering your own needs as a parent, learn some practical tips on how to “Fill your own Bucket” with self care. It might be a good way to start the Summer Holidays!

Thanks for coming to the Y2 Mission Week Artshow
Well done to Y2, what a lovely Artshow, it was so special to see the Artwork and hear about the reasons why we need to take care about our planet in the children's own words. Thanks to Miss Moore who led on this project and well done to all the children for their lovely artwork.
Food glorious food
The summer menu has proved very popular with the children with great feedback on the various menu items. From loaded potato skins to spicy baked potatoes the children have really enjoyed their lunches this term.
