Morning Devotion
Each day at CCS, students gather for a song of worship, a scripture and time of devotion, and the singing of the doxology.
Some of our scriptures for this week were:
- 2 Timothy 2:15
- Acts 5:1-4
- Acts 5:17-20
- Ephesians 4:29
- Acts 6:1-4
Looking Back on Last Week
King of Kings
On Monday, 5th grade students took a special trip to the movie theater to see the new animated film, King of Kings. The film is a story about renowned writer Charles Dickens sharing the story of Jesus Christ with his son, Walter.
House of Music Lunch
Last Visit from the Bookmobile
Elementary students enjoyed the last visit of the school year from the Bookmobile. This has been such a blessing to our students! If you have an opportunity to thank the local public library, please do!
Water Festival
On Friday, 4th grade students attended the Cullman County Water Festival where they learned about the importance of clean water, proper trash disposal, and taking care of the environment.
Final Senior Walk
On Friday, the seniors took their final walk through the halls of the Beech Campus and the Depot Park Campus. Elementary students enjoyed giving them high-fives and posing for pictures with them like they were celebrities. After awards day the walk was a little more emotional with upper school peers as they gave last hugs and words of encouragement.
Praise Band Goal
This year we had a dream and a goal for our music students to grow and learn more about using their talents to glorify God through leading worship. They have done a fantastic job this year under the direction of Mrs. Warden! We are so excited about their progress and we love having them lead worship at events, for devotion, and for weekly chapel services. We are praying that God will continue to grow them in this area so that they may continue to serve and glorify Him in their local churches as well.
Breakfast Treat
Faculty and staff were treated to a special breakfast from the Brooks family. This was a fantastic treat at a time of the year that is so busy that grabbing a bite to eat is one of the last things on list that gets done!
Upper School Awards Day
Wow! What an afternoon of celebration with upper school students!
On Friday we celebrated the academic accomplishments of our students in grades 7-12. It was a packed house for this event and we couldn't be more proud that our parents and families got to see a glimpse of their hard work this year. Students were recognized for their excellence in academics, leadership, Christlike Character, and scholarships earned. Congratulations to all!
