Parent Teacher Conferences
The system will be open to parents to schedule conferences up until 24 hours prior to each conference date. You will know your conference times immediately after scheduling so please write them down or print. You will be able to change appointments if necessary.
If you do not have computer access, you can schedule a conference by calling or emailing Dawn Seehafer in the main office at (715)359-6561 ext. 4021 or dseehafer@dce.k12.wi.us
Grade Point Average (GPA) Listening Session
In February 2024, the state enacted ACT 95, which mandates that high schools across Wisconsin communicate the rankings of students on their transcript — using only their GPA — in the top 5% and top 10% of their class at the end of their junior year. Notably, as part of the Act 95 Wisconsin Guarantee program, students in the top 5% will be guaranteed admission to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, while those in the top 10% will secure guaranteed admission to all other University of Wisconsin campuses.
In light of this new law, the D.C. Everest Senior High is considering the implementation of a weighted grading system. This system would assign additional GPA points based on the rigor of courses. For example, Advanced Placement (AP) courses may receive extra weight to reflect the higher expectations of those collegiate level courses. We are also exploring granting additional weight for Dual Enrollment, honors, and those courses that lead to certification (Microsoft Office Specialist, ServSafe, CompTIA A+, and many more).
To discuss the potential transition from a non-weighted to a weighted grading system, we invite you to attend listening sessions during our Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 7th, and Monday, November 11th, at 5:00 p.m. in the IMC. These sessions will provide valuable insights into how these changes could impact transcripts and grading.
We look forward to your participation and input!
Picture Retakes 7-9:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, October 22nd, will be the senior high picture retake day from 7-9:30 a.m. only. If students did not have their picture taken and want to for the yearbook and possibly to purchase, please do so on this day. Students who received their pictures and want them retaken MUST bring the bad pictures back on this day. Per the photographers discretion, is if there will be a fee. If there is something obviously wrong with them (eyes closed, very blurry, etc), there will be no extra cost.

Senior Yearbook Photos and Ads
Senior Yearbook Photos
Senior portraits must be submitted to the yearbook staff by Friday, November 15, 2024. If you have questions about photo requirements, want to check on photo submissions, or would like your student to have a free senior photo taken at school, please email srh-yearbook@dce.k12.wi.us.
Senior Yearbook Ads
We would like to inform you that Senior Ad messages with photos in the 2025 yearbook can be ordered for your senior student(s). Senior ad content and payment are due by Friday, December 20, 2024. Letters with ad information will be mailed out within the next few weeks, but please see the attached letter and order form if needed. Instructions for ad submission are provided in the letter, but if you have any questions, please email srh-yearbook@dce.k12.wi.us. December tends to get busy for many, so please consider submitting early.
Attendance
Student attendance at school is one of the most significant indicators of student success. We look to partner with our families to ensure the prioritization of student attendance and success. If a student is going to be absent from school, the parent/guardian must call (715) 359-6561 Ext: 4247 or email SRH-Attendance@dce.k12.wi.us before 7:28 a.m. Otherwise written communication with a parent/guardian signature should be submitted to the Attendance Office upon the student’s return to school. Per state statute, a student may be excused for up to 10 school days. A requested absence of 1 period or more counts as a day with an absence. If absences are not communicated, or a student has a recorded absence on 10 or more days, the absence will be considered unexcused and the student may be considered for truancy processes. These processes include loss of privileges, ELT restrictions, after school detentions, Saturday detentions, truancy citations, and potential truancy court.
Student Services Information
The school counseling program works with individual students to support academic achievement, college and career readiness, social emotional strategies, and advocacy for long-term community support.
The Student Services Department has a CANVAS course with quick contacts and valuable information for college/career/academics/social emotional topics. Please ask your child to show you the “Student Services,” CANVAS page to ensure you have access to great resources. The calendar has many, many great opportunities for students to connect with college or career representatives.
College Tidbits for Seniors: Go to the Student Services CANVAS course for more detailed information about college applications.
Check out the three most commonly used college application methods-
*UW application https://apply.wisconsin.edu/homepage (best when applying to any UW College)
*COMMON APP https://www.commonapp.org/ (best when applying to colleges outside the state or private)
*WI Technical Colleges https://www.wistechcolleges.org/apply
Students should apply with an email that is not affiliated with the high school and emails should be checked often during the college application window.
All about Junior Conferencing with Counselors
Junior conferencing with counselors begins the first week of October and runs through February. Please watch for an invitation to attend in the mail with your conference date and times. You will receive your invite approximately two weeks prior to the conference date. Conversation starters with your high school student: Your involvement in your child’s high school life is so influential. Here are some conversation starters to ask your teen this month.
- What are you most excited about this year?
- Do you have any goals this year?
- Is there anything about this school year that makes you nervous?
- What would you go for this year if you knew you couldn’t fail or be rejected?
Marathon County School Based Counseling Consortium
D.C. Everest partners with local counseling agencies to provide therapy services at the school site. Billing is handled directly through the counseling agency and the insurance of the family. Please contact your child’s school counselor for more information about school-based counseling.

Sending Transcripts
All students request transcripts through Parchment. Counselors do NOT send transcripts on behalf of students. How do I set up an account?
- Visit Parchment
- Use non-school email address
- D.C. Everest does not use school codes
- Follow steps in Parchment
If students have taken college credit while in high school through a technical or UW college and need to send those transcripts, students will need to request those transcripts directly from that school using the college website
