GLOW GAZETTE
JANUARY 13, 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
GLOW Students & Families,
It was so great to have our students from the Class of 2023 AND 2024 back on campus for Alumni Day last week. Our Alumni hosted a College Fair for our Middle School students in the morning and facilitated Table Conversations with our High School students in the afternoon to share their "lessons learned" over the past semester at college.
Our staff couldn't help to feel a sense of pride in seeing these former students, now adults, finding both themselves and success as they navigate through this first year of college. Much like any parent, schools are hopeful that they have done everything necessary and possible to prepare students for the next step in their academic journey. So, it brings us both a sense of relief and a great deal of pride to find these alumni happy and well adjusted.
As we continue through this second semester, we continue to be grateful that you have chosen GLOW to prepare your student for the next step in their academic journey. We do not take that responsibility lightly, and we are honored to do this work in partnership with you, our parents.
Wishing you all a great week ahead!
Kate B. Tayloe
Principal

✅ REMINDERS ✅
Headphones Reminder
This is a reminder that students should NOT be wearing headphones of any kind in the classrooms and hallways at GLOW. Headphones are not an accessory may be used, as appropriate, in classrooms, virtual learning environments, or when cell phone use is permitted (lunch, etc.). Headphones should be stored in student backpacks when not in use.
Middle School Science Olympiad
Happy New Year from Ms. Moore and Ms. Sampaio, your child's Science Olympiad coaches!
We are looking forward to our competition on Saturday, March 8th at Trask Coliseum on the UNCW campus. Because the competition is only two months away, we are asking that students attend practices on both Mondays AND Tuesdays beginning the week of January 6th.
Students should check their email for more updates and details.
