Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) DATE CHANGE!

DATE CHANGE-- The dates previously share for IAR will not allow time for make-up testing so IAR testing dates have changed to the week of April 14th. Sorry for the confusion!

Geneseo Education Foundation (GEF) Fall Grant Cycle

Free money for your classrooms? All you need to do is apply!


The fall GEF grant cycle dates has been announced and are listed below along with the grant criteria. Please have all grants submitted to Brian no later than Oct. 21st.


Grants due to Principal: Oct. 21st

GEF Grant Initial Meeting: Nov. 5th

GEF Grant Meeting: Nov. 12th

GEF Presents grants to School Board: Nov. 13th

School Board Meeting: Nov. 14th

All announcements of grant approvals will be made after school board approval.

Mrs. Egert's Last Day

As many of you know, Mrs. Egert's last day with us will be Friday, September 20th. We will definitely miss having her at Southwest but wish her nothing but the best in the future. The instructional aide position has been posted so please encourage any interested candidates to apply.

Conscious Discipline

It's been great to see so many Conscious Discipline techniques and strategies being implemented. Our ELT would like to collect some videos and pictures of these strategies to share at our upcoming October 4th inservice. Please take a moment to share some of these strategies being implemented. If you need help taking the video or picture, please let Brian know.

PTA Membership

We are blessed to have such a supportive PTA. Please make sure to show your support by becoming a member. Additional PTA forms are located in the copy room. Please remember that to apply for a PTA grant you must be a member.

If you have a student who is not present when we practice our emergency drills, please make sure to review these procedures with him/her.
