Superintendent's Message

Dear Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District Community,

As we approach the final weeks of the 2024-2025 school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the #MARSDConnections that have brought us together. This year has been filled with meaningful moments between staff, students and families – all strengthening the foundation of our schools and communities. This shared commitment to connection is what makes MARSD a special place to learn and grow.
I also want to ‘congratulate’ the Class of 2025! You are the heart of our district’s story this year. Whether your next step is college, military, or the workforce, please remember to always carry with you that story and the connections created at Matawan Regional High School. We know you’ll always be Huskies at heart, and we can’t wait to see the incredible things you’ll do.

MARSD Calls on Community to Help Fund Outdoor Fitness Court

The district is seeking community sponsors to help bring a new outdoor fitness court to the front of MRHS.


The district was awarded a grant from the National Fitness Campaign in partnership with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) to construct an outdoor fitness court in front of MRHS. The grant covers a significant portion of the project, but the district is seeking community sponsors to help fund the remaining $45,000 needed to bring the project to life.


The district is seeking contributions from multiple sponsors in the range of $5,000 - $10,000. All funds will directly support construction and installation of the outdoor fitness court.

Sponsorship comes with strong visibility benefits: sponsor logos will be featured on the interior wall of the fitness court, prominently seen by users. Horizon BCBS and National Fitness Campaign logos will appear on the exterior-facing wall toward the street.


The court will be used by MRHS students during school hours and will be open to the public after school, on weekends, holidays, and throughout the summer, serving as a year-round fitness resource for the community.

News From our Schools

Matawan Regional High School

Matawan Regional High Schools Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), led by Maria Ciaravino, was selected as the grand prize winner in this year's Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey’s U Got Brains Champion Schools Program. This program gives New Jersey high school students and staff the chance to create powerful campaigns promoting teen driving safety topics.

Matawan-Aberdeen Middle School

MAMS students and staff had a great time with Battle of the Classes! This week-long event kicked off with spirit days, games, contests, locker decorating, dancing, and more. Each day, students were excited to hear which grade was in the lead. The 7th grade class ultimately came out victorious! View highlights on Instagram @mams_spotlight.

Lloyd Road Elementary School

On May 29, Lloyd Road Elementary School had a great evening showcasing and celebrating its talented student artists at the Annual Art Show. The theme of this year's art show was “Drawn to Adventure: A Superhero Art Show” and included make-and-take crafts, an art tour and a raffle for a series of original framed comic art that included Superman, Spiderman and Batman.

Strathmore Elementary School

AP Environmental Science students from MRHS visited Strathmore Preschool students to share a story about raising trout in aquaponic systems. They also helped students to create wildflower seed bombs. Our students enjoyed hearing about the great projects the MRHS students are doing through the grant they secured.

Ravine Drive Elementary School

Ravine Drive Elementary School hosted its first Bubbles for Autism event on April 29, marking the culmination of Autism Awareness Month throughout April. Our PTO purchased bubbles for every student who blew bubbles to pop the stigmas surrounding individuals with Autism.

Cliffwood Elementary School

The Cliffwood staff recently faced off against the Harlem Wizards in a fun-filled basketball game. It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by Cliffwood students, families, and staff, all in support of a great cause, raising funds for the Cliffwood Elementary School playground. A memorable highlight of the event was when Principal Mrs. Cherence was taped to the wall by the students!

Cambridge Park Elementary School

Cambridge Park held Family Literacy where students and their families participated in reading activities, visited the book fair and signed up for Matawan Aberdeen Public Library cards. We love seeing our students and their families enjoy reading together! Cambridge Park also recently had Fun Day. Even our crossing guard, Mr. Jim, joined in the fun and set up a lemonade stand for our students.
