SUMMER SCHOOL ACADEMIC and ATHLETIC OFFERINGS
We have added some additional academic offerings we thought might be appealing to our students as well as increased the athletic offerings to provide students the opportunity to connect with the high school coaches. Please take advantage!

iReady Testing - May 9th and 12th

Over the course of the school year, our students have been working hard to complete 40 minutes of iReady Reading, 40 minutes of iReady Math lessons each week, and passing 75% of their lessons. Their progress has been monitored by their Raider Time teacher and students have been involved in individual conferences about their progress. In the winter, the students did an excellent job of showing how much they have learned. Now it is time to show how far they have come since the beginning of the school year.


Wilson students will be testing in an extended Raider Time on Tuesday, May 9 and Friday, May 12 from 7:50 - 9:50.

SEND OUR 8TH GRADERS OFF IN STYLE

The Wilson/Magellan community (all grade levels included) will be sending our 8th grade Wilson/Magellan students off with an 8th grade farewell.


​Details of the evening are:

When: Wednesday, May 31st , from 6-8p.m.

What: Glow Night (theme voted on by 8th graders)

  • Dance in cafeteria

  • basketball on one half of gym and yard games on the other

  • Boardgames/cards and food in the front hallway

Who: The Glow Night Farwell will be put on by all grade levels of Wilson/Magellan families for our 8th graders who will be moving on to high school next year


The dance is for 8th graders only and is free. Your help is greatly appreciated. Please sign up at the link below to help make this a wonderful celebration for our Wilson/Magellan 8th graders (your gifts of time, talent and treasure will all be accepted 🙂). Some of the areas of help and items we will need are chaperones, food, decorations, and donations for the DJ (Matt Teske of Yo DJ Entertainment).

FROM the LIBRARY

  • Wilson students love to read! Please note that all school library books are due on Monday, May 22nd. No checkouts will be permitted after that date. Thank you for reminding your child to return their books!

  • The Wilson Library Rewards program is in full swing! Four students from each of our 6 English teachers will win a prize each month: a 3D printed design or a book of their choice! The prize is theirs to keep. Thank you for encouraging your child to read at school and at home!

NIGHT at the TIMBER RATTLERS

Wilson/Magellan Night at the Timber Rattlers stadium is on May 30th at 6:40pm. Students who completed the reading challenge receive a free game ticket and food voucher. Anyone can join us by purchasing tickets at https://fevogm.com/WilsonMS23. We have reserved seats in Section 103 behind home plate. See you at the ballpark! Contact Miss Klemp with any questions.

YEARBOOKS

Yearbooks will be delivered to students on the last day of school. A limited number of extra yearbooks will be available to purchase that day for $17 on a first come basis. The Yearbook Ordering link may still be open to order online.
